CHRISG612 said:haha, Ewing's defense was pretty weak, he didn't even jump. I'm always in favor of fouling in that situation ... I guess I'm in the minority though because most teams I watch rarely foul.. The player has to be smart enough to make sure it is on the ground and the game is pretty much wrapped up..
Of course in the NBA I think it is much more situational. Supposing the team that gets fouled makes the two free throws the other team would need to make free throws as well and in the NBA a time out advances the ball to half court so the team that fouls has to make sure of a few things if they are going to do it. Also the act of shooting is so exaggerated in the NBA where as in college it isn't. I think it should be a staple in coaches playbooks in college.
Clip Joint said:Not fouling was the obvious mistake...BUT WHAT THE FUCK IS HE DOING GUARDING THE LANE FROM BELL???
Play on the top side of him and don't let him get to the 3 point line. Why the fuck was he cutting off the lane and staying between Bell and the basket???
Just another blatantly obvious situation that shows how overrated Dunleavy is as a coach. That game alone exposed many of his flaws.
