I mean, if their going to make online gambling possibly illegal, they may as well try and run the gambit and make alcohol illegal too.

Alcohol is 10,000x more damaging to this country and its individuals than gambling ever thought of being.

Oh, all the stock exchanges in the USA need to be reevaluated and possibly shut down completely too.

Might as well run the full gambit here since new laws are trying to be introduced right and left these days.

It's what i keep harping on-- & it may not stop there: pretty soon it will be"No patriotic American/God-fearing moral person/etc. would do/say such & such because it contributes to the deliquency/downfall of minors/others/country/religion...we're on our way towards a Talibanistic USSR.

Remember...they are just trying to make internet gambling illegal...the brick and mortar casinos, horse tracks etc...are lobbied too hard and make too much $$$ in some states. I have a feeling that some legislators are being lobbied by these land based gambling interests to make online gambling illegal because they are losing market share. The government is losing out on all the tax dollars that are going offshore and this obviously pisses government off and also they are powerless to regulate offshore

I dont know why govt hasnt figured out they dont need to ban gambling online. All they have to do is outlaw sending funds to offshore. If netteller and all like them went out of business gambling online would die.

I don't know about that. I should set up a business whereby you send me credit cards or cash and I sell you widgets, Then, I make deals offshore where I transfer my cash for credits in your online account. My widgets would be legal and what I do internationally would out of the US' hands, correct?

I voted for W because he basically ran unopposed. I will never vote for an east-coast liberal.

Gosh I sound like Archie Bunker.

You can not outlaw sending money

Our economy is globally based. That is the stupidest thing I ever heard...

The govt. makes me protect myself by wearing a seat belt. If the public lets them get away with crap like that, the sky is the limit.

How screwed up is this country when it's easier for the average illegal alien to get a driver's license than it is for a teenager citizen?

And if you, :smoker2: you are treated as a second class citizen.

If you :drink: , you have to listen to the constant MADD mantra to not drive. Tom Leykis makes a good point: if drinking and driving is so bad, why do bars have parking lots?

My state govt. sets up these "imigrant help fairs." Basically it is How to Milk the Welfare System 101 if you are an illegal alien. You can not gain entry unless you can show your phony Mexican matricula ID card. But if you as a citizen apply for a building permit, they make you jump through hoops, dance in a circle, and give a blood sample. Then you have to wait 6-8 weeks.

that's today's tangent

The government should ban fast food before alcohol because obesity problem is way worse than drinking problem right now.

The point is there are 50+ things that are more concerning than "placing a wager online".............things that will NEVER see any kind of bill passed against them.

Why?

Simple......
