Interesting that the line is only -125 Toronto. One would think that the line would be way higher here. Any reason the line is so low considering Halladay is usally a huge chalk? Any injuries or players out? Possible trap?

Thoughts please, thanks.

Because Lachey is a very very good pitcher. He is the best on that staff, and a top 10 AL starter. People often tend to ovverate the difference between GREAT AND GOOD and GOOD AND AVERAGE.

Lackey may be top 10 in the AL, but Halladay is #1 in the AL. I don't think anyone is better then him at hitting his spots and keeping the batters off balance. Not to mention the movement on his fastball is ridiculous. I believe he has the best chance to pitch a no no this season. Throw in the fact that he rarely pitches behind hitters and that the angels offense couldn't hold the bluejays' dicks I love the Blue jays here against the struggling Angels.

However, I don't like taking road favs no matter what, so I will be laying off this game.

Jammy,

Care to share a brief analysis on this pick? Thanks.

Just fading the public & also I believe Halladay is due for a loss.. he's won 5 times in a row. I like the Angels at home and with their performance tonight, the angels will be slugging away tomorrow.. No way they will be shut out by halladay today.

Doesn't Halladay have a bad record in Angel Stadium? I seem to remember him never finding his groove in that stadium. He's an indoor turf pitcher.

Johan Santana is not far behind (if at all)...and we saw what happened to him today as a road favorite. He pitched a gem...but that doesn't always mean a winning ticket.

Good point. And Lackey is better than Verlander.

Yes, I must not forget about Johan. I would say they are neck and neck and actually might put him a little above Halladay.

If you get good value on a good pitcher and good team, take it. If you like Toronto, LAY IT!

I don't know, but a few Angels have had some solid success against Halladay, some pretty good numbers actually. Roy has a 5+ era lifetime against the Angels while Lackey's is 3.23 against the Jays. So far this year lefties really haven't been able to touch Roy while righties have had ok, not great success and the Angels' line-up is dominated by righties. Combine this with the fact that it's an Angels home game and I can see why the line isn't higher. I really wanted to take Halladay at this price because he's been amazing, but it doesn't take much to scare me off of a play and these factors did. Hope the Jays roll though.

How many "trap" lines have you seen Toronto as the favorite TY that they won? Quite a few right.

Adam Kennedy is the Angels 3 hitter right now for crying out loud. With Anderson banged up, and even before this there lineup is a atrocious. Angels are 3rd to last in team average, 26th in the league in runs scored, 27th in slugging percentage, LAST in on base percentage. People need to realize this is an awful, awful offensive ball club this year and a guy like Hallady will toy with them. Lackey is solid but Roy is great, and as evidenced but Lackey's last start against Toronto he has to be absolutely perfect in order to win this game, one run and that could be it. I agree with what most people said and I don't understand how Toronto is not a bigger favorite right now considering how bad the Angels are.
