I have been to every Casino in town and I will give the new Red Rock my vote for best in Las Vegas ! I was mildly disapointed in the Wynn but I certainly wasn't in the Red Rock. This place is a must see with it's many classy Restuarants, fancy nightclubs, huge swimming pool area and it's fantastic interior class everywhere. Plan on finding a way to get a ride to see it during your next visit !

Echo...Echo...Echo

Felt the same way when I walked through Kermit, and totally agree about Stevie Wynn and the Chocolate Factory.

I'm really glad I don't live near Red Rock, I'd be there everyday.

Love the RED ROCK area........spent many a day hiking out there. In fact, MERMAID and myself spent half a day hiking there at last years bash.

If I ever move back to VEGAS.......RED ROCK or near Green Valley Ranch will be the spot.

GVR is beautiful too. I remember when they opened that place and it blew away the typical local casino's...sunset station, palace station, etc...but Fertitas took everything that was right about GVR and upgraded it for RR, and everything that was wrong with GVR and eliminated it.

I live by GVR and prefer to stay on the south side of town, simply because the there is less of a traffic problem, but man...I love the RR area too.

If you complain about the Red Rock.... well I'm not sure what your preferences are but Red Rock is the best I've seen. Any new Casino or Restuarant should never be judged on it's food or service for the first few months until they get all the kinks worked out but this place is simply awesome ! :toast:

Dante,
I promised you Dinner at Hugo's but if you want to sub for the steak house at Red Rock... Consider it a deal ! Steak house is nice ! Of course there is also Cherry's the Hot nightclub and when I was there.... all the cocktail waitresses were wearing Bikinis....... Of course ......... I hardly even glanced that way !

I went recently and was very impressed, very nice atmosphere and setting. Book is real nice also with the large screens and individual tvs. Food I'm not sure of but I did hear and see the bowl of jello in the Deli by the book for $3.99 for like a few cubes. JK was talking about it on the radio here in Vegas so had to see it for myself. I passed but maybe makes you feel kind of funny inside.

LOL

Have you been there or heard anything bad Kiss? Just curious. Never been there, but both my brother and a friend coincidentally described it as "twice as good as GVR". I'm reluctant to go because it's 40 mins away and I hate crowds as big as the ones they've had, so if it sucks, let me know, so i at least have a good excuse to continue to pass on all Red Rock invitations.

No way, it's a very, very nice Casino. I just think calling it "the best casino" in Las Vegas is a bit over the top. Personally I like Mandalay Bay and the stroll thru the Forum Shops on the strip is out of this world.

I was there before they opened and have since stopped in for lunch at the buffet which I thought was above average and priced at about 11 bucks, not bad at all.

Never been to GVR but from what I've read it's also top shelf.

Red Rock is worth a look see for sure.

Kiss...I know what you are saying....dunno about Kermit but I'm speaking in relative terms...relative to off-strip casino's it's a landslide. It's hard to compare RR to on-strip casino's simply because of its smaller size, but if it was on the strip I think it would hold its own.

I was completely underwhelmed by Wynn. I love Caesars, great collection of restaurants...same with MGM, but I hate the sportsbook, too small. I like MB sportsbook, but don't care to gamble there.

I haven't been there yet, but I heard it's the cat's meow. Read about it in Gaming Today. The sportsbook has three 32'x18' screens lined up together. They're supposed to have a way to place bets from your seat, as well as order from the deli and they bring you your food. They also have several VIP seating areas that they are letting "regular" players sit at when they aren't busy.

Have heard nothing but good things by writers who've reviewed the place. I don';t know why someone put the kabash on the buffet, as Stations Casinos are pretty much known for having a great buffet at fair prices, and I can't see RR being any different! Can't wait for my next trip there to visit RR!

Agree, probebly the quality of GVR. Rampart and Suncoast are also pretty nice.

Most places off strip are about the quality of the IP. Sorta grungy but do-able.

Like the girls at closing time.

Gotcha, thanks. I'm sure I couldn't have avoided going forever, but I'm glad to hear it's worth a look. And I know what you mean, 'best in Vegas' is a pretty high standard to meet.

I thought they were supposed to keep it in the tradition of the outdoors being so close to sacred Indian ground and such. Itseemed kinda glitzy to me for an outdoors themed and respected establishment....I will say I saw a couple of hotties near Cherry (nite club ) . Overall it was classy and Id give it an A. Did you see the dealers unis? Kinda weird choice...brown and orange stripes?
