Can the federal government find out if you have an offshore account at a sportsbook ? I feel very wary about giving my social security number to sportsbooks. Any feedback or experiences with the above ?

thanks

Hes probably talking about MANSION. Mansion requires you to send a copy of you DL. Most DL have your SS#.

I've never had to give my SSN to a sportsbook either. My PA driver's license doesn't have my SSN, although I still wasn't too comfortable giving out my driver's license number. I didn't think to ask if it would be ok if I photoshopped out the number.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

Pennsylvania drivers licenses do not have your social security number on them, and i would NEVER give my SS# to an online book. There are too many good books out there that do not require it.

I don't fear the IRS--I claimed all my winnings. But Idenity Thief being what it is--you have to be a complete idiot to give strangers your SS#!

I started this thread, and maybe I was not very clear. I 've not been asked for my ss no. by any sportsbook and meant to take that line out before hitting submit.

My real interest was in knowing if the US Government could get a look/see at your account regardless of ss no.

People are going to tell you no, but the answer is yes.

Will they? Probably not...

But if they can seize $7,000,000 from betwwts held in a bank account off the coast of France, they can certainly investigate members of a book...

As long as the U.S. holds the strongest military they can do whatever they want. What is Antigua gonna do if they are threatened with invasion...

Doubtful, but not impossible
