Braves always seem to be there at the end of the year and this year is no different...start slow...everyone writes them off..and they end up winning the division.

You may notice that I highlighted 3 guys. You have almost zero production from your corner outfielders, and in the case of Francoeur, any minor leaguer in AA could give equal or greater production.

Right-hander Kyle Davies' torn right groin will require surgery, although the procedure hasn't been scheduled. It is not possible to know before the surgery how long Davies might be out, so general manager John Schuerholz won't even guess.
Meanwhile, left-hander Horacio Ramirez is still out rehabbing his sore left hamstring. He will pitch for Triple-A Richmond on Thursday, and will pitch for the R-Braves again on May 23.
Left-hander Chuck James, who was a starter in Richmond and was installed as Atlanta's long reliever out of spring training due to lefty John Foster's sore elbow, is out himself. James pitched an inning for Class A Rome (Ga.) on Wednesday and will pitch two innings for Richmond on Friday. At least that's the plan.
Recalling right-hander Anthony Lerew from Richmond for Wednesday's game is supposed to be a stop-gap measure for this game only. Right-hander Lance Cormier, who threw one inning and recorded two strikeouts pitching on a rehab assignment for Rome on Wednesday, is expected to be activated for Thursday's game.
The upshot of the various injuries is that right-hander Jorge Sosa seems destined to hang on to a spot in the starting rotation despite his penchant for throwing a single horrible pitch at exactly the wrong time.

Smoltz also threw 130 pitches the other day.....

This rotation right now is a joke, and they managed to sweep a joke of a club in Florida for 4 wins at home. They should beat the Marlins. The lack of Production from Francoeur and Langerhans is really hurting this team and shortens the lineup. LaRoche should really have better than a .801 OPS from the 1B slot too. If the Braves are smart, they send Jeff back to the Minor leagues. They won't though, and he will be forced to learn in the majors, becoming another unrealized but flashy talent much like another NL East division player..Jose Reyes.

chop, we know u love them but i know your sharp enough to know theres no way they will win the east this year... if its not the mets than certianly the phils.... but good luck anyway with your squad and better yet the best of luck to u with interleague play starting tomorrow, we know u dominate interleague play...

You may notice that I highlighted 3 guys. You have almost zero production from your corner outfielders, and in the case of Francoeur, any minor leaguer in AA could give equal or greater production.

This rotation right now is a joke, and they managed to sweep a joke of a club in Florida for 4 wins at home. They should beat the Marlins. The lack of Production from Francoeur and Langerhans is really hurting this team and shortens the lineup. LaRoche should really have better than a .801 OPS from the 1B slot too. If the Braves are smart, they send Jeff back to the Minor leagues. They won't though, and he will be forced to learn in the majors, becoming another unrealized but flashy talent much like another NL East division player..Jose Reyes.

Jeff F is playing GREAT right now and with Giles and Renteria doing a good job getting on in front of Chipper and AJ I don't see any problems with thier offense. Thier bullpen is what will cost them this season if they don't get some help though.

You may notice that I highlighted 3 guys. You have almost zero production from your corner outfielders, and in the case of Francoeur, any minor leaguer in AA could give equal or greater production.

Smoltz also threw 130 pitches the other day.....

This rotation right now is a joke, and they managed to sweep a joke of a club in Florida for 4 wins at home. They should beat the Marlins. The lack of Production from Francoeur and Langerhans is really hurting this team and shortens the lineup. LaRoche should really have better than a .801 OPS from the 1B slot too. If the Braves are smart, they send Jeff back to the Minor leagues. They won't though, and he will be forced to learn in the majors, becoming another unrealized but flashy talent much like another NL East division player..Jose Reyes.

Yea, lets send francour back to the minors in the middle of his 16 game hitting streak. LOL

Francoeur, heating up and im glad to see this.. he is going to have to come thru, if we are going to get number 15.

Jones/Jones/Smoltz: these 3 will be there, no worries at all here..

Edgar R.: one of the biggest surprises right now in baseball and definately the team MVP at the moment, and is looking like an allstar right now.

Hudson: probably the single most important member of the team, we absolutely need him to pitch great... and he is capable...

rest of staff: needs alot of work, but we have seen it before..

and most of all, the guys are starting to come together... for the first time this season, they are playing with some enthusiasm..

would definately not count them out.. the braves have a way of winning it and this year, looks no different, at the moment..

Francouer's last 10 games have come against the likes of Washington (3) and Florida (7). He is maybe the most ovverated player in baseball. THE GUY MAKES AN OUT 73.1% OF THE TIME!!!!!

Oh, and also consider that his 3-10 2B-HR ratio WILL even out. That is very inflated so far, and it is doubtful that he hits 30 homers this year. The guy should be in the minors so that he can become a superstar who is justified by his production and not hype.

Him being in a 16 game hitting streak is pretty irrelevant. The Braves have a potential superstar on their hands if they develop him properly.

I also do not hate the braves.

Jeff F, has tons of talent but is very streaky, he looks great at times and looks awful other times...

Diaz was a great player at FSU, 1st team all-american. He's always made great contact with the ball.

Jeff is young and inconsistant but without him this year (btw he's SECOND on the team in rbi's) the Braves have a few more losses. His production and ability in the outfield has really been needed, no way he should be in the minors wtf?

Forget about Francoeur. McCann is the best rookie on the Braves team right now as evidenced by the IMMENSE amount of activity this offseason with teams trying to trade for him. McCann is one of the best catching prospects to come into the league in the past decade or so. The kid is 21+, can field his position marvelously, has a rocket for an arm and can hit the seams off the ball.

McCann:
#1 in the NL in AVG (.354)
#1 in the NL in BA w/ RISP+2Outs (.714!) 5+PA
#10 in the NL w/ Runners On (.372) 50+PA
#20 in the NL in BA w/ RISP (.350)

Not to mention he's at the top of just about every sabermetric category for catchers and for all players, in fielding, batting and all around. He's not getting the glory that Francoeur is, because he's a catcher and not really a power hitter and doesn't have the potential ceiling that Francoeur does, but McCann is almost guaranteed to be a star in the league.

I agree. Braves best catcher since Joe Torre.
The sad thing is the Braves #1 minor league prospect is also a catcher. Damm the logjam!!!!!!!
