Firstly let me say I havent a clue about this Fight personally, some would say full stop. Through bookmaking for years I have built up a way of listening to conflicting opinions or what knowledgeable people are saying and set a price to that. This came about by laying the Big Boys odds on Sports I did not know only to be told later in a Bar how silly the price was.

Anyways, today I listened for an Hour to various pundits giving their view and came up with the following outlook. I found it alarming the way Barrera was talking about he's had his Day and that he now has to look to his retirement even taking into account his age. Apparently his last Two Fights were against lowly opponents whereas this Juarez is unquestionably on the up, tough to put down and plenty of fight experience. I got the feeling from the comments that both will be hard to stop and Barrera might run out of steam although his vast experience would pull him through.

So after digesting all that I had a figure of maybe -125 Barrera, when I seen books going -400 :scared: Reading between the lines, this fight might go the distance and a Draw is a distinct possibility. At 25/1 I have to have £20

Whats the worst that can happen :purple:

If Barera should be -125, but is -400, then you should be
all over the +300, eh? But goodluck on the 25/1.

The -125 is based on a very flimsy view of the opinions but most seemed to agree that both were tough Fighters, so going the distance looks makeable. Knowing how dodgy Boxing is, a Draw would make both Fighters look good. however, someone will probably get kncked out iin the First Round. :drink:

These are good odds - I put $25 on Juarez for fun. MAB has had his mega-fights (Hamed, Morales x3, Pacquiao) and he might not be as motivated to fight a guy like Juarez who is nothing more than a solid A- fighter.

I'll still be rooting for MAB - the guy's the reason I got back into boxing fandom in 2000 after his first fight against Morales.

Go MAB!

I like Barrera but not necessarily at almost -400. Juarez is pretty solid and can probably go the full 12 so out goes the inside distance I was considering. I'm just watching this one 2nite as a boxing fan.

Great call! When Buffer was reading the judge's score I was thinking to myself, why didn't I put a little on the draw LOL

The DRAW paid +2100. FYI

Yeah I know :pucking: I even saw it a +2300. How did your day pan out jam? I hope you laid the motherload on that Wnba total earlier. It went over by almost 30 point :puppy:

I broke even today, lost with barbaro & the canes but made it back up in bases. I ended up breaking even with that WNBA total :)

unbelievable:

Cards added wrong, Barrera wins;
Barrios annihilates Nagy!

Saturday, May 20 2006

By Francisco Salazar & Rocco Morales at ringside

A mistake in the addition of the scorecards resulted in Saturday's Marco Antonio Barrera-Rocky Juarez being announced to the Staples Center crowd and HBO television viewership as a draw. However, the scorecards were later retabulated and it was discovered that the actual scores were 115-114, 115-113 Barrera, 115-114 Juarez, so Barrera actually wins a majority decision.

Draw bettors still get paid but Barrera backers get screwed. Eh. It happens.

....how could anyone watch that and say Barrera was the winner though?

im actually kind of confused then.

barerra won on all 3 cards so why would the bettors get screwed.

pinny already changed my "barerra will not win by decision wager" to a loser.

Don't most books go with whatever's announced in the ring regardless of what happens afterwards?

The Greek have graded my Barrera to win bet as push/cancel.
