Saw a show about this guy the other day... It seems that A. Idol is basically his and another brit or 2 . He has American Inventor running now and has several new shows in development. Oprah pulls in 50 million $ per yr due to her syndication deal. Seinfeld got 100 million for syndication and when AI goes into syndication this shrewd businessman will clean up the dinner plates. He cashes in on the recording deals on these kids after the season ends and gets revenue from the sold out shows....He sits back and collects $$$$ from all of it....can u imagine the position this guy is in financially . Quietly he is becoming potentially one of the richest foreigners in history of the US.:smoker2: What a dork.

How is AI going into syndication? If it were going into syndication it could have after season 3. The only reality shows I've seen in syndication are on obscure channels and I doubt they were getting any kind of big bucks for them.

The other guy is Simon Fuller. This is from a Uk rich list:

The huge success of television's X Factor has inflated the wealth of many on the music millionaires list. Simon Fuller, the former manager of the Spice Girls, sees his wealth shoot up from GBP75m to GBP300m in the past year. American Idol continues to pull the audiences in the US where Fox TV has paid him GBP35m for the rights and he recently sold his 19 Entertainment company to CKX, earning GBP69m for his stake. Fuller, 45, is a partner in the X Factor with Simon Cowell, the show's self-styled Mr Nasty who is worth GBP60m. Cowell, 46, is also involved with American Idol and is well on the way to fulfilling his ambition to be worth GBP100m "in a few years".

The big players in Reality TV is Endemol.

They specialise in inexpensive programming like Big Brother that is appealing to television executives in the modern multi-channel world, and other Endemol programmes in this vein include Changing Rooms, Ready Steady Cook, Deal or No Deal, Ground Force, International King of Sports, Space Cadets and Fear Factor.

In 2000 the company was sold to the Spanish telecom and media corporation Telefónica for €5.5 billion.

Joop van den Ende and John de Mol the founders are now both billionaires. In 2005 Forbes magazine named de Mol as one of the 500 richest people in the world

Yea, the network thinks hes another Mark Burnett. He got lucky with AI ,basically a talent show. However the other shows will be slickly produced but may suck similar to that cold boring Unanimous.

I belive you are confusing "Simon's" , Cowell has no producing credit on american Idol. I am sure he wishes he had a piece of the american idol show, as fuller is worth 300m GBP and Cowell "only" 60m.

Seinfeld got 100 million for syndication

Actually, Seinfeld has made well over a billion.

In 2004 alone, Seinfeld made 267M$ from syndication (http://www.forbes.com/lists/results.jhtml?passListId=53&passYear=1999&passListType=Person&resultsStart=1&resultsHowMany=25&resultsSortProperties=-numberfield2%2C%2Bstringfield1&resultsSortCategoryName=earnings+%28%24mil%29). The three other cast members were cut out of syndication royalties entirely, which is why they despised him for many years, including during the last year of the show.

This is an interesting interview with Jason Alexander (George).

http://www.stanthecaddy.com/pact-brings-peace-to-the-seinfeld-cast.html

He says: "in the years that we've been in syndication, Julia, Michael and I have probably individually seen about a quarter of a million dollars out of residuals, whereas our brethren have seen hundreds of millions of dollars. Seinfeld has a profit of over a billion dollars. I said to Jerry when he made the decision years ago to not let us in, 'The day will come when you regret this decision. [...] You have created a rift between you and the three of us, and while we are in no way, shape or form looking for parity with you, you have created a chasm that is also inappropriate' "

Jerry Seinfeld...what is he gonna do with a billion dollars?...boggles the mind. Stand up freakin comic = $1,000,000,000.00+ wow. He could send it to Bo Dog and ask for a 20% bonus and a $1 million free match play....Then try to hedge his arena football pik with a M/L play at olympic for $500,000.
