There is another problem with contacting a mod to send an email to a poster (rather than pm'ing).
The problem is that in many cases it's likely that the poster no longer uses the email address he registered with.
At least, that is my personal situation in many cases. I don't know which email address I used when I first signed up here a year and a half ago. But it's likely it got spammed out and I switched to another one.
So if someone were to try to email me thru a mod it's unlikely I would ever know.
This works the other way also, so I have no way of knowing, when I email a poster here thru a mod, if they have chosen not to respond, or if the email is going to a rarely used address.
