Okay gentlemen, I dont get it, well actually I do, b/c the Cubs dont score runs. I still feel this line should be atleast (-135) if not, (-140). I dont see anyway the young left hander for Chicago gets hit hard tonight by the AAA Marlins. Am I off in assuming this? I only have one unit tonight on Chicago, but am thinking of upping it to 2 units. What does everyone else think of this game? I saw a Chicago team yesterday that battled back in a game for the first time in a long time. I am not saying things are turned around yet for the Cubs, but the rotation is slowly turning its self around, and the bats had a little more pop in them yesterday. Its not like the season is over for the Cubs yet, as they are only 6.5 games out of the wildcard. The Cubs will not win the division this year unless Carpenter, Mulder, and Pujols all take a dump, and Wood, Prior, and Lee all have monster 2nd halfs.

I agree I think the Cubs should be much bigger favorites. Nolasco is essentially a reliever that has been thrown into the rotation for the Marlins. As seen against the Braves he wasn't very effective and won't go deep into games. Marlins have above and beyond the worst bullpen in the majors so after Nolasco goes 4-5 the flood gates will open. Marshall already has gone 7 shutout innings against Florida this year giving up only 2 hits and 2 walks. Cubs have some capable hitters who haven't swung as expected this year like Pierre, Ramirez, etc. these guys will hit up and it should come against AAA pitching.

The line opened at I believe -104 and has since moved to -121. I took the Cubs last night but would not think about them now.

The Cubs are 5-15 this month. Be careful where you put your money.

Good Luck!

And the Marlins record this month is? 5-15 as well and they have dropped 7 in a row. Cubs have plenty of legimate underachieving ball players, Marlins have a team full of Minor Leaguers.

To clear the air in this thread the Cubs opened as a Road Chalk of -1.20. Cris still useing that very same number! Slight drop in other shops as of this time but not much as there is $$ for Both sides of this game at this time.

Cubs may very well indeed win this game but, i learned long ago that chalk in baseball is very very bitter when it looses.
The next thing i learned was if you cant have the Home Doggiee, its better to just pass the play. As road chalk is not a winning trend over my lifetime in Any sport.

So take this as a word of caution...Niether team is very good, and anything can, an most likely will happen in a baseball game.

obtw the Line is just about right here, as if not the Sharps would have already picked it off.

Insiders, I would bet my left foot that the Cubs were -104 at about 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon. At about 10 last night they were -115. When I left for lunch today they were -121 and now they are -124...this is all at Pinnacle.

It is quite obvious that the Cubs suck ass and it was a terrible play. That said, I am 100% certain that at Pinny the Cubs opened at -104 or something in that range. I played it at about 10 pm last night because the line was moving so rapdily, I remember it jumped from -108 to -115 in what seemed like an hour. Not that it matters now as it is obvious it is a losing bet, but this is one left foot I would be winning back.

You could be right about Pinny as i never go there. But if you have the DB screen you will notice that Cris an Oly are the first up with the overnighters. Cris opened the game Cubs -!.20 and i stayed in that range. Now this is NOT to say that some group of Wiseguys played Pinny on the Dog and they just kept lowering the number, but that is quite a huge move for it NOT to show up Anywhere else, dont ya think?

Likewise I'm not sure about Cris and Oly as I don't check there. I just know what Pinny and a few others did and I'm being 100% honest in saying that Pinny did have that kind of movement. It's a non-issue completely for me, but I really don't want to talk about this anymore as it was probably the dumbest play of my life. The Cubs on the road and laying chalk, really, really terrible.

Note to self: NEVER wager on the Cubs again. Marlins may run out a bunch of young AAA kids but the Cubs are just a pitiful team. They play with no desire and a destined for another horrible season. Wood throws tomorrow I believe against Olsen, may be another Marlins upset but how can you really touch either team. :pucking:
