do I read that right, you are not on the Jays today?

Mind if I ask what you see in Tampa Bay as I really liked Toronto to win this afternoon

oh no.. dont get me wrong.. i will be cheering for the jays, i believe the jays will win as jansen has pitched well against the rays with nothing to show for it.. but the price is way to high for me not to put a unit on it with the way the jays played over the weekend and the rays ( albeit facing the marlins) coming off three in a row...way to much value in the d-rays.. who play the AL EAst tough n e wayz

thanks...I understand what you're saying, just wanted to see if you knew something that I hadn't seen. Let's both hope that the Jays get back to winning ways. Well, I guess either way you win on this early game.

I know what you mean. Sometimes I have trouble putting cash on the Cardinals or the Cowboys in football. Just makes me that much more pissed if they don't win.
Was kind of sweating the Cards/Royals game Friday after KC took a 5 run lead and I had STL -1 and -2, but then reminded myself that it is the Royals. I can't believe Elarton made those comments in public after yesterdays game.

"We're terrible, there's no other way to describe it," Elarton said. "We're just pretty bad in every facet of the game.
"If we play well offensively, pitching or defense lets us down. It's a vicious cycle we're stuck in, and it seems like no one cares. If that continues, it's going to be a long season, because it's only going to get worse.

"You at least need to get beat with some pride. If you're going to get beat, at least go down swinging. You have to have the desire within yourself to go out there and not get embarrassed every day. If you don't care, you're not going to get better."

I guess Mientkiewicz made some too, but not quite as bad as Elarton's

"There comes a time," said veteran Doug Mientkiewicz, "when you have to look at yourself in the mirror and say, 'I'm tired of being a sideshow.' This is inexcusable, and I'm not excluding myself from the problem.

"You're going to lose games, there's no way around that, but this seems like the same rerun every day. This game is about adjustments, but we're going through 'Groundhog Day' every single day. There has to be some kind of pride factor involved, because people here deserve more than we're giving them."

those are very interesting.. i like what Doug said though.. it is true.. the fans do deserve more than what there giving them..what i dont understand is how they are that bad.. this may be my personal opinion but on paper they arent THAT horrible.. but i guess its in the games that count..

I have a friend in group sales and she keeps defending the GM, well somewhat. I have told her that yes they have some better players than they have had in the past, but really there aren't people on that team that are going to help carry a team. They have a lot of good...I don't want to say role players, but can't think of a better term. Guys who would fill in nicely be solid supplementing a team that had a few stars on it. Sweeney has been hurt most of the season, but I don't think that would make much difference.

no.. having mike in the lineup wont stop you from blowing 5 run leads... i guess thats what i am trying to say as well..they just dont have chemistry or any leaders...

and from what they were saying on BBTN last night their farm system is pretty depleted too. Funny how they talk about a youth movement and then you have guys like Sanders, Mient., Grudz, Graff and Stairs in your every day lineup.

sorry, didn't mean to turn your thread into a royals-vent, just frustrating to watch. Thank goodness I'm a Cardinals fan.

TOJayz I was wondering since you are a huge Jays fan if you would be interested in a team signed game used Jays bat, it is from the 1992 world series and has all trhe big names signed on it Winfield,Hentghen,Carter etc etc. If you would like to see pics of it let me know.
