You look at the lineup and you say to yourself they have to snap out of this soon. On paper they have just about everything you want in a ball club. Well above average starting pitching, good bullpen and a decent lineup.

I know some of the above is not performing up to ability but based on the past they should be doing alot more.

I've been saying all year long that I can't believe this is a Mike Scoscia-coached ball club. Can anyone in SoCal shed some light on why the Angels are doing so poorly?

Yeah, i hate the angels... glad I cashed in on the Angels Team Total Under 5. 5 was WAY TOO high... they only average around 3.xx a game.

They lost Glaus, Molina, Guillen, that is a ton of offense, it finally caught up with them. They traded Finley for Alfonzo, bust, while a healthy Finley is playing very well for the Giants. None of the kids have panned out.
Half of their lineup are minor leaguers.
Weaver was a huge mistake.
So yes they are pretty much that bad.
Oh yeah and Colon is out.
Things will only get worse, the bullpen is great but will get worn out, Gregg already was moved to the rotation to hurt the pen.

Easy answer Weaver and Colon have pitched terribly
Angels pitching has given up 55 HR's so far this season
Colon (in only 3 games also) 7.07 ERA
Weaver 1-7 7.97 ERA
Santana has been a disapointment there was
alot of buzz about him b4 the season started saying
this would be a huge year for him

Also Angels bats have been pretty quiet BA only .245
Pretty simple Colon and Weaver are terrible bats have
been quiet and team is in a rut.

As a Dodger fan I have to admit it was fun to see
us sweep em!!!!

Actually other than Vlad, not much in that lineup is very scary.
Even the good hitters are free swinging, horrible OBP.

Yeah you made me check it out. I live in Glendale, pretty close
to Dodgers Stadium, Pretty close to the Los Feliz Exit on the 5.

La Mirada is the city right before Anaheim on the 5. I was dating a
girl that lived in La Mirada last October. I couldn't believe I could get to
La Mirada in 17 mins on the freeway, always thought it was
further. I was driving like 90 but still. I like it over there way
better air quality. Better people.

Tonight: top six hitters in the lineup 7-26, ZERO walks, top two hitters 2-10, obviously no walks.
They don't make pitchers work, don't get long counts, pitchers are figuring it out and are throwing out of the zone and know they will swing.

17 minutes, damn that is great time. It is a very nice area, close to the beaches as well, disneyland, knotts, tons of stuff in Anaheim, can catch Cal State Fullerton baseball.
I like Dodger stadium but it is such a mess getting out of there i don't go that much. I went to see Clemens pitch last year, that was awesome.

I know Anaheim is awesome!! I would love to live there. Dodger
Stadium has a pretty cool deal on Wed/Sun games

4 tickets,4 hot dogs,4 sodas,parking for $52.

Not bad to bring a few people.

As a Dodger fan you had to be laughing when you saw that signing. He actually had a decent year last year, DECENT. Not 8 million a year. Plus Dodger stadium is a pitchers park and helped him out big time, plus no DH.

Even the guy on FSN west said something about his contract being
alot more than expected. Bonehead Angels move.

I do think Angels will turn it around. But it might be too late.

That is a damn good deal for 52 bucks, i may have to head over.
They need somebody to get going, maybe McPherson, he has a great swing and power, if he can catch fire and Colon can get 100%, maybe call up Jared Weaver to replace his brother in the rotation.

the big white flag for me was when Tim Salmon made the team, and is batting in the middle of the lineup at that. He has been trying to retire for 2 years now. There is no protection in the lineup for Vlad with Anderson hurt. With him back I think they will be decent, definately not good.

Very true TN, and sadly Salmon is hitting pretty damn well and the offense still sucks. I'm sure the didnt expect this much from Salmon.
Letting Glaus go was the big one, you had Vlad, Garret, Glaus, very tough 3-4-5, R/L/R. If they were that high on McPherson they could have put one of them at first or DH. But you just can't lose a bat like that and they have no offense at either corner.
