In case of a tie, does Pinnacle take your money or is it a push??

If you take the moneyline for the first half and the game is tied at the half, loss or push?

Generally the major exception would be in a market that involved three way betting such as a soccer match where the draw is an option. Then a wager on a side would be a loss if there is a draw ofcourse.

So instead of taking a team M/L at say -150, you can take them at -1 runs and be +112 say????

Yea and if your team wins by 1 run your bet is refunded IE push

That sounds crazy to take a team M/L then, why not just take them -1 run?!?!?!? Better value that way

Cause If You Take Them M/l, They Have To Win And You Have To Pay -130 Or Whatever,...but If You Take Them -1 It Would Usually Be A +, Like +110 Or Somethin...unless Im Not Seeing Something?

There are a few books that keep the money on a horse scratch so you really have to read the fine print to understand what you are getting into.

You'd have to win by 2 or more to collect any winnings.

A lot...differs by team.

I believe the White Sox won over 30 1-run games last season.

tons of games are decided by exactly 1 run.....

if pinnacle lets you use the drop down menu to adjust to -1, trust me when I say it is likely not in your favor....

a better idea is to shop for the best line on the ML at whatever book, & then shop for the best line at -1.5 at whatever book. This is essentially the same thing as laying -1 & will garner the most favorable odds.

Here are last season's standings. What this doesn't tell you (obviously) is whether or not the team was favored when they had the 1-run win. But this tells you just how often 1-run games happen in MLB. Not worth the price to give a run.

The White Sox were my example above and over 35% of their wins were by 1-run. You would have cost yourself A LOT of profit by playing -1 on them all season. Not nearly as much value as you might think with that line. You don't save that much juice from the ML.
