I'm having a computer problem.
First off, I'm "No Computer Wiz"...I don't do all the Updates, etc, that are needed. But today, I'm seeing something "Pop-Up" and I know I have a Problem!

The Fan is Running constantly, like it's "Running Hot/OverHeating!"

Also, There is "Pop-Up" coming up from a little red encircled X on the bottom right of my screen.

It Says...."Your Computer is Infected"
"Windows has detected a Spyware Infection"
"ETC, ETC, ETC"

I ran the Virus Scan that it asked for and 171 "Pest/Bugs" were Found!
Then it asked me to Purchase a Program that will protect my computer.

What is Going on Guys?
Thanks in Advance.......MR. NEWLYWED:icon_conf

*The Computer is Used For Very Few Things.........

-THERX
-Place Wagers
-Daughter Plays Games
-Wife did a Resume
That's about it........Not sure how my computer..GOT SICK!
Can anyone Help?!?!??!?

'Daughter Plays Games" WE HAVE A BINGO!

What site does she play games at? most of the game sites have agreements that you sign without reading and part of the gaming fun comes the headache of spyware.

Sounds as though it's a program called Stop Sign, or could be another MALICOUS (spyware/rogue spyware) what these thing's do, as in the case of another poster here who got dupped in the same fashion this company is trying to do to you. These ptrograms are spyware themselves (not all) but the one's that do a scan and give you false posetives(detecting spyware that isn't there) and attempt to fool you are very nasty. If you need spyware detection I'm sure there are many great programs that have been mentioned in the Computer Forum One of which is Spybot. I would suggest you do a virus scan at TrendMicro.com and als get yourself motivated to keeping your computer out of trouble by doing those updates you don't like to do. Good luck.

Also, go to windowsupdate.com & make sure you have all the critical updates. If not, you could "catch" something just by being online.

I downloaded Ad-aware last week, and even though I have high speed cable, it ran much faster once I ran the program. Another +++!
