Got a dining room set, coffee table, end table, and 2 large shelves coming in Thursday and just want to know what to tip the guy(s). They already charged me 95.00 for delivery.

If you're already getting stuck a hundy for delivery, I'd have a tough time going over $20.

The only way I would tip is if the service is outstanding, meaning they go above and beyond just bringing stuff in and setting it down.

2 young guys dropped off a king mattress on Saturday and took out my old one. I gave them 10 bucks and told them to put it on the Heat over the Pistons +250.

Actually gave them 10 bucks and they were happy.

I am with you here. I have always been accused of over tipping at bars and restaurants but this one never would have crossed my mind. Wow, if this common I feel cheap.

That's very nice of you...

So many tip robotically only to those they've been taught to mindlessly tip-- but i like to tip salaried workers that are not making a lot..WHEN/IF they're nice of course: from McDonald's to Kinko's to America West...btw in hotels front desk clerks really appreciate it, & as well in restaurants hostesses(esp. the homely-looking types) -- you just may get a lot of mileage out of that small tip.

can't say you're out of line but i'd tip them at least $10 bucks...that work is fuckin hard as balls and they don't get paid amazing or anything...so why not throw a 10 their way, get 'em a glass of water or somethin...no skin off your back i'd say...and for the most part ppl doing manual labor are pretty cool dudes in my experience (workin with them and using services)

Now a couch or anything heavy downstairs into the basement ya 10/20$ and a beer :drink:

Thanks for the info guys. I have a bi-level so it's all coming up about 7 stairs. I guess a couple of pepsi's and a 20 are in order.

Mine was about a 4-hour plus move (2 to move out of a 3-story, 2 to move in) with some heavy and big furniture and these 2 guys were super nice and did a fantastic job and I gave them $60 each for tips...

Now I have been told I over-tip all the time, but hey, these guys busted their asses...

2 spanish guys brought over a Kenmore washing machine and took out the old one.

Gave them 2 can of Pesi and $5 each. That's the most I can do since Sears already charging me $75 for delivery.

Always tip alot. IF they do a good job.

If someone does something for you and they are grinding their way through life, tip big.

This situation,if they do a good job, nice guys, 20 each. Never know when you might deal with the same people again.

When I had my satellite installed. i tipped the guy 50...since then I have needed several things done electronically, I am a priority to him.

Dont be cheap when you tip. Word travels fast.

Delivered plenty of furniture for part time job a few years ago. Never received a tip or expected one. Got drinks sometimes.
