This has been done mainly with touts posting plays in sport forums and a few times in the political forum to cut down on spam. The user can simply log out to read the particular forum he is blocked from viewing from but cannot post in that forum. IPs have nothing to do with it. Blocking a particular forum for posters differs from total post review or out right banning in that it only effects a particular forum and does not restrict use of any other forums.
We ask touts to stop posting plays in sport forums but when then refuse to do so forum block is one of the tools moderators have access to that can make sure the rules of a particular forum are followed.
wil..
I agree with Coach...anybody should be allowed to post picks. The distinction should come from soliciting business. The posts that Wil cited had some informational value....at least one of them did.
