Worked to get a little back last night. Minny never had a chance to win by 2 after the sixth, KC spit the bit after controlling things through seven innings and Atlanta got a taste of their own medicine by tossing a 2-hitter and losing. But no complaints, Miami was a nice break for me last night. Thanks a lot Mr. Dumpster.

Went 5-3 and won 783 last night. Now 67-90-3 and down 5979 in '06.
OK, back with some day games today. I made some of these bets last night because with these UMPS going, these numbers will certainly get away! haha

Maddux has struggled in May, going 0-3 with a 7.48 ERA in four starts. Over that span, he has yielded 18 runs and 32 hits, and the other team is hitting .356 against him. He got beat by the ChiSox Friday, walking five for the first time in nearly two years. Perhaps age is catching up to the great one? Moehler has been great in his last two starts and that brought his ERA out of the stratosphere down to 7.29. But this is Brian Moehler we're still talking about here. With Emmel behind the plate (11.25 runs, 59.9 percent strikes and 7-1 O/U this year), it's worth a shot again.

The play: OVER 8.5 -109 CUB/FLA - 545 to win 500

How can anyone possibly make a price on the Cards/Giants game without knowing Bonds's status. I made STL -150 with Bonds out (looks like that's what everyone is presuming) and -135 with him in. Interesting stat about umpire Davis - nine of his last 10 Frisco games have gone UNDER.

Maybe the bookmakers are seeing something different than me but I cashed last night and plan on doing so again today with this ridiculous price on Arizona. Batista had good stuff against Atlanta the last time, just had trouble with control in the first inning last time. Duke has lost three straight. Let me repeat - Arizona is in FIRST PLACE in the toughest division in baseball while Pittsburgh is the worst road team in all of baseball. And I get to lay 130 again? OK, I'll bite. Lean to the parlay with UNDER but will pass for now.

THe plays: Arizona -130 - 650 to win 500
and Arizona -1.5 runs +158 - 300 to win 474

Oswalt seems a little cheap today but he did struggle with the Senators in his first start vs. them this season; O'Connor faces Houston for the first time and he's got good stuff. Young has emerged from a neutral ump in the past to post an 8-1 record O/U this year despite calling 63.4 percent strikes. The total is low enough for me to bite. I'll stab at Houston, too, with the low price.

The plays: OVER 7.5 -106 in Washington - 318 to win 300

2teams - Houston -145/OVER 7.5 flat - 250 to win 556.43

First time this year I've made a number on a game and NEITHER pitcher is going - that happened in NY as the Phils scratched Hamels and the Mets opted for Soler to make his MLB debut over Gonzalez (can't say I blame them). Pass, but lean to Philly after the tough loss in what amounts to a must-win after yesterday.

Cook has won more games since last August than anyone in baseball beside Jose Contreras - impressive, indeed. Sele has been stellar for the Dodgers in his first three starts, giving up just five runs and 16 hits over 19 2/3 innings. This total looks a little high but I'll pass because of Cedarstrom (8-2 O/U despite having an ordinary strike count) and the fact that the Dodgers are hitting the piss out of the ball right now.

I didn't pass on Cleveland/Minnesota, though. I thought anything less than 9 was a gift and lo and behold, I got to bet 8 1/2 flat. Sabathia has been great since coming off the DL but this isn't the Pirates or Seattle, his last two foes. He is 5-4 in the Metrodome in his 12 starts there, nothing too extraordinary. And Radke has struggled all season. He has allowed double-digit hits and at least six runs in four of his nine starts. He gave up 10 hits and three earned runs in six innings of a 5-3 loss to Detroit last Thursday, and his ERA is the fourth-worst in the majors. As an added bonus, we get Holbrook behind the plate (12 rpg, 59.82 strikes, 5-1 O/U) this season.

The play: CLE/MIN OVER 8.5 -115 - 575 to win 500

With Randy's struggles, the Red Sox look cheap at anything less than 5-to-4. Clement is a model of inconsistency, though. Pass.

Towers got his only win of the season against this team but for him to be favored like this is an absolute joke. Even a dog's ass finds the sun every once in awhile and Towers did just that when he won in Tampa two starts back. He has struggled with location on his slider all season, hanging them early and often, and giving up 12 bombs thus far in 2006. Fossum actually left after five innings and 55 pitches in his last start with a groin strain, so we don't know how healthy he is. He has allowed three runs or less seven times this season, but hasn't received much run support. Since scoring 16 times over Fossum's first two outings, the Devil Rays have totaled 25 runs in his last seven starts. That will change today against Towers. Gibson behind the plate will certainly help the cause for the OVER (10.4 rpg, 60.6 percent strikes, 6-4 O/U this year).

THe plays: Tampa plus 155 - 300 to win 465

OVER 10.5 EVEN - 700 to win 700

2teams - Tampa +54/OV 10.5 flat - 300.00 to Win 1,154.73

Cannot believe they would make the White Sox this high against Haren. The A's have lost four straight and have not lost five in a row since last May. This guy is the one who can stop the bleeding. He won his third straight start on Friday, allowing just two hits in eight innings of a 1-0 victory over the Giants. Haren has allowed just four runs in 24 1/3 innings during his winning streak. Buehrle is 2-8 with a 4.14 ERA in 18 career appearances, including 14 starts, against the A's. He is 0-3 in his last five starts against Oakland. They were all losses for the ChiSox.

The play: Oakland plus 130 - 400 to win 520

Bonderman has done well against KC but struggled against everyone else. I'm not into backing Gobble considering he hasn't thrown all year and was just named the new starter this morning but I did notice Crawford is behind the plate, he of the 60.3 strike percentage. A club play...

THe play: DET/KAN OVER 9.5 -115 - 345 to win 300

THat's it for now. GL fellas!
