Maddox has seem to struggle somewhat lately. Could very well happen again today.

Prior to getting hit hard by the Chicago White Sox's Maddux hurled a gem against San Diego. While his early season success was probably an aberration he should dominate the lowly Marlins hitters tonight.

While Florida isn't a top offensive club by any stretch of the imagination...I would still take their lineup over the Cubs anyday right now.

The Cubs have Walker and Barrett batting 3rd and 4th. :icon_conf

HAHA I hear you Cubs are awful but Maddux is a veteran and when a veteran faces a young team like the Marlins he usually toys with them. I got no faith that Moehler will throw a decent game today. It's mainly pick your poison on this game.

i disagree on this lineup being bad. right now its not that great because there a bunch of young top prospects in there first seasons. in 2 years from now this will be one of the best lineups in the league. hanley ramirez, uggla, cabrera, hermida, jacobs. this will be a very good team in a few seasons. having said that, they are struggling, but are showing more flashes that they are on the right page as the season has progressed.

I certainly don't think the Marlins lineup is bad. I think their pitching is horrendous though.

I am on the Marlins today but have a tough time backing a team with very little starting pitching and an even worse bullpen.

i agree with you clipjoint, i like the marlins lineup more then the cubs. i dont see much potential with the cubs lineup. on the other hand the marlins will be very good in the near future.

No doubt the Marlins have a lot of potential in there lineup but I believe they excellerated a lot of guys to majors ala the Detroit Tigers a few years back. In 2-3 years if these young guys develop this will be a good ball club again, but with any young team there will be a lot of ups and downs which is why the Marlins will struggle to win 60 games this year.

They did this the last time they won the World Series. It works for them. They stockpile young talent and let them mature.

The problem is keeping people in the seats during this rebuilding.

Two years from now, they should be deadly if they keep everyone.
