If the Cubs can't win ONE game against the Marlins with Marshall, Wood and Maddux throwing this team should go head to head with KC for the worst team in baseball debate. To make matters worse they just get the first 2 guys on base then Aramis Ramirez comes up and hits into a double play. I don't care who they have pitching for the rest of the year if they don't win this game I will be betting against them 90% of the time for the remainder of the year.

Chop i have been and will continue to be a big (silent) supporter of you, but the question really should be " How can anyone bet on the Cubs in any situation right now? They HAVE to be either either a fade or a no play. This is the streakiest sport of them all, and when bad teams are losing, they will continue to lose.

Baker should be fired today after getting swept by the Florida Marlins, after coming off a huge comeback win against the Chicago White Sox's. They have offiicially hit rock bottom and need some kind of shake-up. Losing to Ricky Nolasco, Scott Olsen and Brian Moehler indictates that the players have stopped trying and Dusty has lost control of his club house. The lineups he throws out are embarassing as well Ronny Cedeno as a 2 hitter, his love for Neifi Perez, etc. Must be depressing to be a player in that clubhouse right now.

I agree, the same holds for the Royals and probably some others. I wouldn't play either no matter what the line right now.

Alot of people feeling pretty stupid with the Cubs pick (HEY just trying to jinx it into the Cubs coming back, DOUBT it). Had my stupidity last night with the Cubs, GEEE and only one out away. They get one way or another.

Dusty really needs to go. This team has totally thrown in the towel.

I think people are misunderstanding the difference between lack of talant and underplaying. The Cubs when healthy have Zambrono,Prior,Maddux,Wood, and Marshall. I would love to see what someone like Leo Mazzone could do with those 5 guys. The lineup is ok when Lee is healthy. But regardless of all the injuries the Cubs had no business getting there ass handed to them against the Marlins like this today unless they are throwing in the towel. Thats 2 years in a row that they have mailed in the season early.

Both Chicago newspapers reported that Hendry is still going to extend Baker's contract...basically was waiting for the team to turn around a bit first...

The guy in trouble appears to be Andy McPhail...

At thie rate...that will be October 2nd.

What can Ronny Cedano do? He can't field and he looks like me trying to hit major league pitching.

The 5th inning disaster is all on the shoulders of Ronny Cedeno...

Maddux will not blame him...he is too classy to do that...but the display he put on in the dugout...well I have NEVER seen him that pissed off...taking the bat to the cooler and soaking O'Neil was not Maddux...he snapped...

Either way Cedeno's arm is strong enough to NOT bounce that ball to 1st...more sickening than all the 2 out scoring was that they ruled that a hit for Ramirez...when it was clearly an error on Cedeno...

One little mistake like that Cedeno error... turns into a monstrous mistake for these Cubs...just like the mistake Cedeno made against the Padres...when he threw the ball towards the dugout when play was still live...then the Padres went nuts scoring runs...

It is time for the Cubs to trade Pierre and call up Felix Pie...

They should also trade Aramis "My ass is sore and I cannot play today" Ramirez...

Then they need to find a SS and LF.

After the Braves slaughter them this weekend...they should be even closer to Pittsburgh for last place.
