Personally, I always have pitchers listed.

How about most of you........ALWAYS, most of the time, sometime, seldom, or NEVER?

Feel free to discuss your strategy if you prefer.

Thanks

always, unless it's a book that defaults to action, and I screw up by not selecting listed.

Always, unless I happen to place my bet at that undisclosed European book that still takes action only. Damn I missed the St Louis game yesterday and I knew of the possible change beforehand..

Betfair has an action option for those who can use this out, of course there are no adjusted odds after a pitcher change.

Always. If a pitcher gets canceled I like to go out and find the best price somewhere else.

Always, since its the default setting, i usually have a reason to NOT select a pitcher..

Like i want a side no matter who pitches

What he said, always listed pitchers only. Only a moron would want action regardless of the pitching match-up and then blindly accept whatever price the book wanted to give you.

Always unless I screw up at a new book ... which has happened a couple times with that software where you have to click on pitcher name for listed and team name for action.

Always, without exception. If there is a pitching change, why take the line the book gives you with the new pitcher? You can always rebet the game.

An interesting note, Bucsfan posts all his picks at 'action'. I don't understand why. I don't know of one sharp who doens't list pitchers.

If your handicapping a game, how could you not include the starting pitchers. That would be ridiculous. ALWAYS!

I will bet action if I am betting a home dog like SF yesterday. My pitcher must start. Some books will allow you to bet this.

Rarely. Believe that if you're betting with reputable shops the number you're going to get if a pitching change occurs is going to be fair.

Not to mention I put in most of my plays (i.e. not scalps, 'capped plalys) shortly before first pitch 90%+ of the time so a pitching change that late is pretty uncommon. And in capping I deemphasize starting pitchers more than most; I tend to make my calls more based on the team and how each side has been playing, what I expect in the future; etc.

While I'd say most people probably weight starting pitching 50,60,70 percent of their calculation on a game I rarely count it more than 20-40 percent.

I always list pitchers unless I accidentally forget (every once in a while I'll forget that the default setting at a book I don't use much is action.)
