Most starters don't go over 110 if they are pitching well. Some guys like Clemens, Randy Johnson, Schilling and other various "horses" will go longer. Dusty is famous for working his pitchers into the ground. He threw Rob Nen's elbow out the year they went to the WS, wore out Felix Rodriguez and Julian Tavarez before him. People forget Tavarez was actually good w/ the Giants but Dusty would throw him out there almost daily (89 appearances on year).
He is now getting blame for Prior's problems, saying he pitched him too much too soon, also getting some blame for Wood's current problems. Although the two of them only have 3 combined 200+ IP seasons and all three are 211-213.
