the whole year, averging 3 plays a day (500+ for the year). I say No.

I have tried my ass off to add shopping to my handicapped plays this year and without it I bet I would have half the profits I have.

Sounds dumb but the dollars add up. On the 10 bets I have made today I am up +141, if I had just 5 dimes as an account and this is a low vig baseball out and got there closing line (for arguments sakes) I would be up +112. $29 easy dollars just by having multipile outs and shopping.

I have no idea if this is a typical day but if so, It would increase my yearly profit +4000 at this rate.

those 10 wagers were made at 6 different books:
Mansion (#1 or #1a IMO)
SIA (solid for dogs)
Pinny (same as mansion)
BetJam (find a play a day there)
Cascade ( a must for totals)
Sportsbetting (solid underrated bases book, thankf fish)

You kill me Fish!
At 6:30 every night you can make 50 bucks in 30 minutes with that many outs and your years. If you really can't pick winners do that.:dancefool

why? You see how players will fall over backwards for a $5 scalp. I can't beleive you can't help your bottom line shopping a little bit more.

Today I got:
LA D -113
Toronto +115
over 7.5 NY Mets +100
Boston -103
San Diego +125
under Texas +102
over SF +107

Not bad and I didn't put a typical day into this.

I really don't need any other book...I could make a few extra bucks I suppose if I shopped but not that much...

It's not like football or basketball where you get extra points by shopping, I like betting early and at -107.

Yes is my answer.
It ALWAYS comes back to pickin winners! I dont care if you have 1 out or 1000. Offshore numbers are merely painted these days anyway. I use Almost Always 1 out in the baseball anyway. Mostly dogs, 90% maybe a shade more than that. Locals with any baseball business almost Always inflate the chalks anyway. Lots of locals dont even deal baseball anymore, thats their vacation time, they say. Some close up until fall after the NBA Playoffs.
I have one local that is getting up in his years, and his favorite saying is this "Cya in the fall, ifn at all" lol
You guys must have 3.2 million to have ALL of those accounts in a Thrid World country. But its your money. But as mentioned i am from the ole school anyway.

wow. surpsised by the answers in this so far. We all talk about line shopping as an important factor in winning and this is how you line shop in baseball. I showed on how a small sample size gained me $29 on $100 plays, imagine if these were $500 plays.

This isn't all about picking winners, it's also about paying less for your losers or most importantly finding value. I dont' understand the "all lines are the same argument", that is ridiculous. Mansion and Pinny numbers are a good 3-4 cents better on average.

My point is it all adds up, just like someone that scalps. A few bucks here and a few bucks there. I just can't understand what the argument for not having at least 5 solid outs if you are plaing everyday

I will say 95% or higher of the guys betting BASES on this forum are NOT using locals.

OHEV> by placing offers only

Problem is they may only fill when the line moves, and Fishhead can scalp it. You'd have to keep checking and altering the offers. I think OHEV people probably have that and Pinny primarily and take the better price, and if your offer is out of line, Pinny gets the bet.

Ice tried offering hoops ( before they switched fee to seller) with mixed results, and remember you pay the fee now when you make the offer ( and win).

you are definatly right about having to monitor it, but I have had good success getting people to gobble up my offers, mind you its usually only a small amount of 100 or so, so maybe it woudnt suit everyone....

I find I am having better results now getting people to buy my offers since they made the change

Line shopping is much more important in basketball and football, baseball we're talking pennies compared to time spent and moving money...to each their own though.

football , basketball most definitely, baseball not a big deal.

J-man: Pretty true. There are few places that have a dimeline on RL and totals, have Pinny and one of the others, And your pretty well set. Pinny,OHEV,and Matchbook, and 5D overnite will capture a very good line most of the time.

I'd take those BOS lines as my only out if they were permanent over all the others. 30, 40 cents off market is insane.

yeah, those 4 & you are set for sure.... but we are not allowed to say Pinny or either, Matchbook is okay because theya re associated with WSEX, but we will have to come up for a code word for Pinny.

I am willing to say, if you shop and have 5+ books it will add over 2% to your yearly ROI. Can you win with one book, maybe. Can you win more with 5+ books, definelty.

I think line shopping in baseball is underrated. A big time baseball guy(Cutter) I admire from another forum says the key to beating baseball is having a good opinion and betting into "fringe" numbers.

And I'd also bet that 95% aren't betting 1/3rd as much as those of us who are using locals. I know that I only had one local to bet with at one time, and it didn't stop me from making any money. Before the internet, all you had were locals...or Vegas.
