I've been playing there for a couple of months for btoh straight plays and scalps. Last night after betting the MLB game my account got locked. So I called in about it and was told it was because I had just bet steam on the Sea/Minn game. Now I don't use DON BEST or any line service I just know pinnacle had -124 so I took the scalp and BOS had the best line at +130 (most others had +125ish). That is not what bothered me the most..

They then went on to tell me that if I bet a steam play again they will cancel the wager on me. This is what I'm not happy about because I don't know what the steam plays are on a regular basis. I was in a rush and told them I wasn't happy about it and I would cash out in the morning. After sleeping on it I decided to call them again because it just seemed like a pretty crazy thing for them to say.

So I spoke with the manager (LA) just now and he confirmed it again if you bet steam again they will cancel the wager. I told him that wasn't fair and asked if a player places a wager can he then call back later in the day and cancel it if he no longer wants it and he said YES as long as it hasn't started yet, he said for example you cant cancel in the bottom of the 8th inning.

So, here are some facts about BOS according to their line manager...

1) they can cancel your wager anytime after you bet it if they deem it a steam play

2) players can cancel any wagers they made up until the start of the game

So I guess it is fair after all, but these policies are very interesting to me.

Thoughts?

my only thought is : i was thinking of signing up for college football with them when it came around due to their sponsorship here - but after reading this ill add it to my growing list of sportsbooks that suck

the sole reason i dont believe that the book has sole discretion over what to accept or not

im taking it at face value that you are not and have not been picking them off

It's a ridiculous policy anyway that seems to give them carte blanche to cancel when they want.. what happens if you bet a game they deem steam 5 minutes before post, and they cancel it in the 3rd inning?

its like betting on a dog race after they have jumped

that sort of thing cant be tolerated - either they back themselves to be bookmakers or they dont

there is no in between

I would be very very very sure about the self calcellation policy before I began to use that to any advantage.

Lets allow Wil to investigate this and get the COMPLETE facts and know EXACTLY how BOS handles this before passing judgement.

Thanks,

Sent you an email Wil.

Funny thing is I didn't even know they dealt two sets of lines until the past couple weeks when people posted that issue on here. Then I looked at the Live lines feature and saw the other set of lines. Before that I thought I had the good lines, I didn't realize that I had the sharp lines from the very start until just the other day.

I highly doubt they would allow that either. I just think it was the manager trying to cover his ass for the crap he was telling me about them being allowed to cancel wagers.

Ladeda email recieved..

Speaking of the BOS lines - the Live Lines feed is now fixed with the regular profile lines being listed.

I am in touch with BOS on the cancelled bets issue and waiting for a definitive answer and will report here the moment I have one.

IMO it would be better if they reduced limits or showed a player
the door rather than cancelling wagers.

Those were my thoughts as well and I even mentioned to him that I heard of players getting kicked out but never heard of the cancelling wagers policy. Although it is somehwat sad to deal two sets of lines and still need to kick players out.

This book is doing some strange things lately, multiple problems being reported around here.

And what if you don't know it's a steam play and just happen to bet it? Besides, I've known more than a few steam plays to bite the dust!! What's their problem? I've been playing there because it's easy to deposit with my Master Card with no problems. Looks like I'll have to review where I'm betting.

according to disputes around here recently;

1) any prop line wagered on is subject to cancellation at any time if they judge it to be a "mistake" Their judgment will be final

2) any straight wager on a major sport is subject to cancellation if they judge it to be "steam". They could use this "rule" to cancel any wager made by anyone at any time.

So their rules are that ANY wager placed with them can be cancelled AT ANY TIME at their SOLE DISCRETION.

I would like to thank them for making their policies clear to RX readers. RX readers may want to consider their policies when deciding where to deposit their money!

The BOS lines being displayed now are the ones the majority of players get. Somehow for a few days we were getting the public profile lines which are not meant for the average Rxer. If I had to describe the current feed I would call it the Sharp or wize guy line feed. I hope this feed does not mislead any Rxer into thinking they will get a better number than the one displayed.

BOS was very cooperative in fixing the Rx. Live Lines feed problem.

Any new depositer at BOS is free to ask for the sharp or wise guy profile lines when they deposit.

BetOnSports is the same SHIT place it has always been. If you're going to have watchdog sites defending this dump, the USA might as well as pass a law banning internet gambling.

Once a wager is accepted its a contract.

If they have a problem they should either delay acceptance or accept a partial bet. While that itself is an annoying policy at least you know where you stand and the accepted portion will be honoured and not cancelled.

Awaiting a full report from wil.

Mr. Smith,
your argument is flawed, as you fail to establish that they can judge any wager to be steam. You also try to say that they can cancel any wager for any reason, which isn't really accurate because you only establish 2 reasons for cancelling a wager (steam, or bad line).
