dbl: I guess he didn't see Marquis pinch-hit the other day in Diego and hit a LEADOFF TRIPLE in the third inning. Marquis won the award they give to pitchers who have the best avg. from last year, so it's not like he can't hit. LaRussa is known to use Marquis early if he can and save some of his other pinch hitters for later in the game, situations, etc., and extra innings...
