Get ready, fellas ....

Things are "aligned" this fall with the schedule / one of the top qb and rb combos in the country / one of the top stadiums in the country / solid offv and defv line // ton of "deep" talent

Fellas .. we kick Ohio States ass in Iowa City on National Prime time and Michigan game means Hawks can run the table!!!

Proud of them Hawks

Not to take anything away from Nebraska but the better program right now is Iowa

Iowa is one of only 4 prgms to have gone to New Years day bowls the last 4 yr ... superior coaching staff and one of the top stadiums in the country right now to try and win as a visitor

Nebraska is an alltime program ... the better program right now is Iowa and those facts are undeniable and Hawks are loaded this fall

Capt Kirk vs Callahan .... NO COMPARISON

You really think they will run the table?

Does this mean they will be in the BCS.

What are some realistic expectations for this year and will they be even better in 07 or 08?!

Rob: They will beat Ohio State at home and go to Ann Arbor where they kicked butt last time and revenge game for Iowa

Tate and Young are one of the top 1qb/rb combos in the country ... Tate ranked 4th best qb and Young 7th best rb in Nation by Sporting News .. the offv and defv lines will both be a strength and deep at TE with Chandler a senior and Moleki was the top rated TE in the country coming out of high school 2 yrs ago ... the wideout corp has a lot of speed and talent but will not totally a strength right now with a lot of youngsters that need to step up and one of the best in Texas enrolled in Jan and was the stars of spring ball

Defv line will be the strength on defv and lot of talent @ lb that but 2 huge losses with Hodge and Greenway .... safties are fine and corners need to step up and the kicking game is solid

Ferentz has done a fabulous job with this program ... top 10 recruiting class 2 yrs ago with some quality depth added this past class with the top lb in PA on board who was wanted by major programs like Tennessee and Iowa has committments allready from the top wideout in the Midwest, the top offv lineman in Illinois, front runner for the top rb in Illinois and Jake Christensen is a sophmore who was the top qb in the Midwest coming out of high school in Illinois

The schedule this year is perfectly setup for the Hawks to have a magical year ... KF now has quality deep talent and no Ohio State or Michigan on their schedule in 07 and 08 ... one of the top coaches in college ball today and one of the toughest stadiums to win in has Iowa poised to move into the top echelon

Ferentz is a wanted man every time there appears to be an NFL opening and is building up a legacy in Iowa City

Tate will prove why he is the alltime passing yardage leader down here in TX high school ....
in that video that play against Wisconson with the spin and flings it on the run like 50 yrds in the air right on the button was classic and Young will be a household name as he reminds me of Roger Craig

Get ready ... last year scared me with that schedule and I just hope they dont stumble @ Syracuse looking ahead to them Clones

Doc your knowledge and research on IOWA CFB is just amazing. This stuff is making me think it's 50 out and September.

I appreciate the info. I remember 1 game last season where I quiped that IOWA would cover and you said they would not and you were right. And I lost money :(

Last time I recall the two getting together, your boy Kirk was coaching and this was the result. Notice the score in the top corner. I can only hope this game gets going again. One is a football powerhouse going through a rough patch and the other is mediocrity at its finest going through a hot streak AND STILL CANNOT WIN A NATIONAL TITLE. Enjoy!!

* FYI .... Iowa does have ONE National title to their credit sir .... that occurred in 1958 with the Hawks going 8-1-1 and won the Rose Bowl and awarded the National Title by the FWAA

Again, ONE HUGE DIFFERENCE: Ferentz vs Callahan .... Ferentz one of the top 5 coaches in the country

Say what ya want but the talent level between the two has all but disappeared Nebraska had a nice run when they basically had the easiest schedule in the country with only Oklahoma as their annual game to worry about and a number of years with very medicore recruiting has leveled the playing field between these 2 programs

I aint taking anything away from Nebraska but face facts that Iowa has built up very quickly that can go head to head on the field and off the field vs Nebraska and if you think not I believe you are not looking at the facts and going with your bias

Nebraska USED to be an elite program ....

I grew up 50 miles from Iowa City and follow the program every day

Fish:

Gonna be watching it on the tube so enjoy as the town will be similar to #1 vs #2 game I attended in 85 when Hawks beat Michigan 12-10

I was at this game also........on the EAST 35 YARD LINE about halfway up.

The ONLY game I have ever attended that I sat on the EAST side of the stadium, which was right near the visitors section in the SOUTHEAST corner of legendary Kinnick Stadium.

I really believe I cannot afford to miss this game vs OSU this year.
