Can you win betting a sport you do not like? I love the NFL and do extremely well betting on it and conversely I can't stand the regular season NBA games and in the 8 bets I have made this year, I think I am 1-7.
Has anyone here made good money on a sport they do not enjoy?

Of course one can.

The NBA disgusts me and have probably watched less than 13 minutes of actual live coverage all year, but have had a nice season wagering, scalping, and middling the association.

Fishhead,
What is your secret, ha, ha? Maybe I have a mental block with the NBA, because I love college hoops and do well there.

I do better in the ones I dont like than the ones I do. Its a buisness in that regard the rest is just my alter ego World Famous Guessicapper in action.

Absa freakin loutely. If you dont know the sport you switch to a "betting the NUMBERS MODE" . Or bet good probability props, or hedge, or take advice from fellow rxers like tonite Old Man Ted had a nice write up on the playoffs under. And he banged it. Most people dont follow boxing but bet it, I personally dont follow tennis but have rooting interest in people I never heard of cause I like the odds

I don't like baseball much but it has been my bread and butter from the day I figured out what -140 meant (15 cent lines back in those days). You are almost always better off if you truly hate the sport because you won't waste time watching games you are too emotionally involved in to be a good observer. You won't waste money betting on teams you like, just because you foolishly think you "know" them. Best of all, you will find you are coldly efficient and treat it like an exercise, just how it should be. That is only if you truly hate the sport.

1-7 is too small a sample.

Not liking the sport may be advantageous re emotions / biases.

Otherwise, who would make money on Wall St.?

If anything, you can do BETTER at wagering on a sport you do not enjoy because your heart will have almost no affect on which side to bet on. You have a completely unbiased view on the event. Because you have an unbiased view you will be able to look at key numbers and other subsets with a clear head, which is very important in my opinion.

Pretty much my thoughts. The ONLY sport I really love is foots, NCAA then NFL. Used to watch a lot of hoops but sort of lost interest. Having said that, I have started betting MLB in a moderate way and am doing OK. Have slowly built a nice cush for the Fall fun. But even w/foots I never let my heart rule, thus I NEVER bet the "Purple Gang"! And the Go4`s are usually a go against.

It is nearly impossible for me to do so other than by scalping and grinding stuff like that, which isn't my cup of tea any longer really. I am a complete feel better, so I have to watch games to get reads on matchups etc. It is the most powerful tool there is. Cannot believe people grind away capping shit all day when it is so simple just to scout and fire. Therefore, for me, I must enjoy the sport, although there really isn't any sport I don't like. Sometimes, things like the world cup are perfect, although I hate soccer in general. It breaks the monotony of it all.

I Love, Love, and Love College Football! I Like College Basketball. I am mostly ambivalent about most of the others and HATE a few. I have never been able to do well on a sport I did not like. I wish that was not true. When I first see a CFB line that makes my nipples hard and goosebumps pop up, I have usually found a profitable opportunity.:money8: :lolBIG: That ONLY happens with CFB.
