Have been in contact with no less than five well known sportsbooks over the past 3-4 days and all have reported a very so-so month of MAY profit wise..........saying the players overall have enjoyed a very good month.

Although not unusual this time of year, it appears that this month of May has been below what they come to expect for this month.

Baseball has been very good to many players allready.

This is not to say that some books may be enjoying an outstanding month of May.......possibly even better than normal.

However, I get the sense that overall its been a tad rockier this month than some books are accustomed to.

Have any of you heard any reports that are noteworthy?

SI has a set of picks called square plays, I never play them but they are a good estimate of how good or bad it is going for books.

Month of May:

MLB: -$1,313..............could mean losses in bases for this month in some books and if not just over breakeven for most.

NBA: 2-0................ although this is just the end of the season there is also a thread going about fading the public during the playoffs and it is winning, so with the larger ammount of bets and beating the squares, baskets should have been a nice profit for the books.

these are the two big ones going on right now, depending the other types of bets offered your first post seems to hit it right on the nail at least from my end.

put this thread up after NFL season and you would definately see some books with losses due to NFL, however I think that CFB was better then most years this year thus making up for the big favorite year.

A bad month at this time of year is rarely comparable to even a sort of poor month of football. Just not a time of year to worry much frankly. Its tough for a book to legitimately go under at this time of year so I wouldn't worry. Haven't heard much to back up or refute the premise though.

No worries on this end, just inquiring on how the month of MAY was overall for the majority of books.
