Lately I've been bothered of what I've been seeing here in the Offshore Forum. I know why the Rx exist and their difficult task to please advertisers and posters straight down the line. I'm seeing numerous post where someone post a problem or issue with a book and it seems they get "attacked" instead of heard or help. One of my favorite lines is "Why didn't you contact a Mod first?" well why can't a player do both? Isn't that the purpose of why Offshore is here for bettors? To share experiences, give suggestions (positive and negative), help cap games and the whole mix? Some of you are familiar with some of the other lines you see all to often when any poster has anything to say about a book. There seems to be a definite lean towards the book's concerns lately and it's bothering me. Mods again I'm not trying to dog you out or make you job harder but do you think sometimes it's better to not say anything then post something that makes you look bias? I know there has to be others out there that feel the same way or maybe I'm just nuts and I'm seeing things. Can we sometimes agree to disagree? Again not trying to break balls but has the focus of the Rx or the Offshore Forum change?

It is a fine line, but it is my opinion that the moderators straddle it extrmely well.

not sure how you can describe it as a fine line

its an internet forum for sports gambling. if you cant post your impressions- problems - experiences about all aspects of that freely, theres something wrong

sure its a business but quite frankly if you start deleting posts or not allowing people to post real life experiences than it degrades the forum

the advertisers have the ability to answer the threads directly to knock any bs claim on the head

finally having been involved just recently (in having an account) at a company that went bankrupt I would rather know both good and bad things about books that are located in countries that are not regulated, so i can make the most informed decision possible

just my 2 cents

I think some of the problem occurs becuase many posters do not provide suffcient detail in discussing their "problem" with the book. The details tend to be brought forward based on the questions asked by both posters and moderators. The sentiment will usually only turn against a player if he has a) lied; b) has no support for his accusation or falied to tell the entire story; or c) turns out to be a scammer on some level.

The pinny post is just one example. The player did not intially indicate he had been banging obviously bad lines. When that came out, the playeers sided with the book as not wanting a player like that. Just an example.

You are correct that posters are under no obligation to go directly to a mod with a problem as opposed to the forum. In fact, going to the forum can sometimes shame the book into action. That happened to me with Gamblers Avenue and Mike Silver (not his real name anyway).

Not sure how you cannot think it is a fine line, when the revenue to run the place comes from books advertising dollars and so forth. There isn't much post deleting and so forth, and the moderators certainly do not side with the book if they think the book is wrong in a despute just because they advertise.
