ICE- Much depends on the shops involved.

A mere ONE cent in some cases, especially if the books involved offer large limits.

Certainly not going to take a ONE cent scalp at say SIA for a mere $550 limit and risk winning there for making chump change.

You ask questions at times that I could write an entire chapter of a book on.

So many different scenarios that arise.

If its a "bonus" only book, will actually at times take a wager that is actually short of being a scalp by a few cents to either.... 1. get out of the book or....... 2. have it where if I win at the bonus book, show a small profit.

thats a good thing right (asking questions that you could write an entire chapter of a book on)

Thanks buddy. I know where you are going with most of these. It's all about "grinding" out profits. You are a mentor. Thanks for any advice, it is greatly appreciated.

Starting tomorrow I am going to "attack" the whole scalping thing for a few months. I will keep you updated on my progress (I will probably asking a few dozen questions along the way):suomi:

Fish, I am new to scalping like Ice is. I wanted to ask you, and I'm not sure its appropriate, so don't answer if you don't want to but I have seen some programs that help in scalping, and I was wondering if you use or have used or recommend any of these.

I would think it's worth it if you get your money back. How much time do you need to put in to scalping each month in order for you to get $200 back?

If it wasn't for quite a few indiviuals on this forum I would be a lot less rich (in knowledege and $$). Like I said since day one I only wished I wouldn't have waited so long to join up and start gathering all the info so many here are willing to share. Thanks:toast:

No, but a few of my friends do.

Do have 2-3 monitors on at the same time though glued into certain websites(actually more in past years).

LIVE LINES, SBR LINES, DON BEST, PINNACLE DYNAMIC, or some EXCHANGE to name just a few examples.

ICE MAN- Are you currently using wagerstation, and if so, can you give us a short critique....thanks.

signed up at wagerstation back during hoops season to help me find scalps and teach me a few things. Poster RandyRohm( too who I am extremly grateful for) taught me quite a bit on his free time but he doesn't use software either.

I quit scalping when I was beating the same books over and over and losing to the "sharper" books. I decided to just bet at square books and had a HUGE run during college hoops. Overall it was difficult. You have to be prepared. I bought my second monitor after I quit scalping.

TONS and TONS of 1 and 2 cent scalps all day long. They set it up to make it as fast as they can for the user. With a few clicks of the mouse you can be at your book with id and password entered( you don't have to type none of the info in. You just store it and bam it is there) but sometimes the software is just too slow to get the number. Steam plays close to gametime seem hard to get as do anyhting over 3 cents.

Will have a way better answer for you in a few weeks as I will commit to this full bore. Overall like everything in gambling it is all about being orgainizied and putting in the time. Trying to keep the grind it out mentality on this next project

most scalps less than 2 hours before gametime seem to be up for less than 3 minutes. Some you can't even get.

A few posters here know a lot more about this than me (I think Orbit,Johnny Detroit, are a few if I am not mistaken)

Overall I would say after costs it will help your bottom line.

I use Wagerstation as well Ice ... solid product .... the tools are the best I have ever used and like Iceman says having those tools allows you to get them pretty quickly although not all of them arrggghhh ;)

My BOS is almost unusable as well and have filtered them out but dont get me started on BOS!! ... Wagerstation told me that they get the outside lines and as far as I can tell the sharp lines are only shown once you log in.

Best times are about 10-15 minutes before start time :) and it can get a little crazy so make sure your money is distributed correctly. Generally these things only last a few minutes so you have to be FAST!!

One of the main things I really could not do without in Wstation is the wager tracking .... do you use it Iceman? Tells me exactly where all my money is at one time and tracks open bets, balances etc... that is essential for scalping I think ... thoughts?

btw Ice and others .... couple things that drive me crazy about scalping:

1. Pushes on big juicy arbs arrrgghhhh
2. Get an arb and then mere seconds later it gets bigger and better :(

O.
