I firmly believe almost everyone would benefit from posting their plays each day.

And sticking to exactly what you post as your real bets, no add ons or late get out games! :103631605

You will become more disciplined! :103631605

Give it a serious shot you will thank me in a few months!:103631605

great advice imo. Often find myself doing exactly what your saying (ie. too many games, late bail out games) Might as well thank you now.

Ok, I'm new here but I don't get why a person should only list all their plays in one thread. For example, there are a couple of early games that both go your way (you cash). You've `capped a late afternoon/early evening game and it looks like that as well is going your way. At this point, it looks like you should be up 3 units, so why not `cap the late nite game and play it for 1 unit?

Again, I won't speak for anyone else here but I'd like to think/believe/know I have some control over how many games I wager on. In the above example, you would be playing with house/book money and unless you do something really stupid (chase) even if you lose, you're still up for the night.

Lastly, keeping to a money management system will benefit you (imo) in the long run.

I didn't say one thread, I was suggesting that you post all your actual bets to learn discipline....not everyone has discipline, and posting exactly what you bet will help IMO...

Even if you chase on the side , eventually you would learn (hopefully) just how foolish that is when you see your posted record compared to your actual record.........Plus there is something about really being extra careful when you post your card, I believe a good majority would be less careless!

Your mistake in there is you're not playing with "house money". When you won it became your money. Playing the extra unit only because you won is classic bad MM.

posting your card may humble you but it will also make you better...

Think about it, if we all had to walk around naked wouldn't we all try a little harder to look decent? LOL this is why everyone gets fat in the winter, they can hide behind the clothing.

Journeyman,

Maybe it's me, but why would a person not list their actual wager(s)?

unfortunatly I list every bet I make, without faking my record through the good and bad times. I dont think posting your record makes 1 units difference in how you cap. I dont think it helps or hurts.

I do add plays for several reasons. Sometimes I feel like the line later on in the day for my bets will be better than they are on the overnights.

I also believe in being hot and cold. If I start off the day 2-0, I tend to feel good about myself and bet other games.

I rarely ever add plays if I start off 0-2. I dont chase when I lose, but sometimes I press when I win.

Santo,

Win, push or lose - you'd still be up for day. Ever get on a roll in which all the plays/wagers go your way? If I read your post right, you're saying you'd stop for the day - I have no problem with that but as for myself, if I get on a roll, I will play the later game(s) at an amount that should they not win I'd still be cash positive at night's end.

You're an extreme case Chop...most players don't have that discipline is my point.

The point is , you don't really have an edge on those lte games , you're just playing these games to play them because you won.

I guess then when I print-out the overnight lines and compare them to gametime lines, I wouldn't see which way money has moved the line/numbers (if at all). Ok, right. Uh-huh, yup if you say so. Guess we disagree on this one.
