pitcher right now!!

You obviously don't know jack about the twins. Santana is leaps and bounds the best pitcher on the Twins. Liriano will be there one day, hopefully soon

Liriano-
2.11 ERA--4-0 REC-- Only given up 1 HR all season.
80 SO/75 IPP

This guy is a MAJOR STUD!!! Who knows how good he can
be? Imagine if he improves??? Saying that Jo Santana a 4-4 pitcher is
(leaps and bounds) better than Liriano is just PLAIN WRONG. What has this guy done wrong?

Liriano has only given up 1 run in last 24 innings :nopityA:

Thank you!!

Gyno, You're saying that he will IMPROVE on a season where he is already on pace for a 225IP, 240K, 2.11 ERA, 3 homers allowed season??

That is an interesting, albiet wrong statement.

Consider factors such as One being proven over time, and the FACT that a pitcher has little to do with what his W-L record is.

Santana is the best pitcher in the majors by a decent margin.

When presented with an anomolous statement, I consider the opposite, and reject the greater miracle.

Only thing you can say he is unproven, I'll give you that.
But with Liriano this good so early in his career who knows
how good he is. I watched the Angels game and this guys stuff
looked awesome. I remember the talk about this guy before the
season. He was a hot prospect.

Gyno, to those who follow minor leagues, he's been around for 2-3 years.

I'm just advising you to look more at track record. It is UNLIKELY that a rookie will Improve on a pace which already has him having the best AL season in the last 50 years.

I made sure to bet him all three starts so far, figuring it probable the prices would never be better than these first couple weeks, .... if that.

He showed up on even casual Twins fans' radars when he went rocketing from AA to the big club last year. People around here were screaming for him to be in the rotation out of Spring Training even before all their starters (except Johan) sucked out of the gate.

Like anybody he'll have to make adjustments at some time when everybody starts getting a feel for him .... but for now he's pretty fun to watch and especially with him making his first start the same weekend as the stadium bill was finally going through, people are pretty pumped in Minnee-sota

im from MN as well. Liriano is pitching solid, but you can't say he's better then Santana because of a few starts. Santana is hands down in my opinion the best pitcher in the bigs by a sizeable margin. Liriano is having a similar start to his career as King Felix in Seattle. Dominant first season when he pitched, but now look at him. It's going to take time for him to become a consistent dominant big league pitcher. I believe he will, but not for a couple seasons.

Lot Of Us Here From Star Of The North

today. The kid is very good rt now and will be in the top 5 barring injury by 2008. Santana is already there, discount the lousy start. Playing in that World Classic or whatever it was called didn`t help him. He`s MONEY now!! Go Vikes!!!!

Oh BTW

The Twins have 3 of the most valuable young talents in the bigs. Mauer is going to be as good as we all thought. A catcher hitting 350 is a commodity, and he could have benn a Heisman contender @ FSU, great HS QB!! What would George give for him & Liriano? In fact when you consider Tori Hunter, name me any other tm that has 4 players under 30 with this talent.

I have seen liriano pitch and he is without a doubt , the real deal. the twins now have two of the best pitchers in the game of baseball and they have without a doubt one of the best if not THE best minor league program in baseball, I just dont see why they are not contending at the end of the year.If this team finds some hitting, and made some good trades they could be a powerhouse.A big if though.
cheers

We Need The Same Thing

we`ve needed for yrs a #4 hitter, and we traded Big Poppi, for what? Yeah Liriano trade takes a little sting out of Mike Lynn`s great fu*k up. The pain lingers after all these yrs. Power hitting or lack of has been the heart of the problem for a long time. #3 where have you gone?
