PITTSBURGH – +1.17 over San Diego (Pinnacle)
Like we mentioned yesterday, the Pirates are just too hot to ignore and with Oliver Perez going up against Chan Ho Park this one looks pretty solid. After a rough start to the year Perez is back on track with three dominating performances in a row over the Reds, D-Backs and Astros. Perez allowed just a combined four runs in 20 innings against that trio and that’s the Oliver Perez we’ve been accustomed to seeing. Pittsburgh is 6-1 on its current 10-game home stand and chances are very good they’ll extend that here. Chan Ho Park is pitching a little better than in recent years but the roof is slowly but surely caving in on him. His ERA on the road is 6.66 and over his last three starts his ERA is up over seven. The opposition is hitting .301 against Park and the last time he pitched at PNC Park he had his lunch handed to him. Play: Pittsburgh –1 +1.17 (Risking 1.5 units). <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

MILWAUKEE –1.10 over Washington (SIA)
The Milwaukee Brewers have gone Colorado Rockies on us in that they’re a different team at home and a brutal one on the road. They’re back in the friendly confines tonight and lefty Dana Eveland is on the hill. Eveland is 0-2 with an ERA of 7.97 but trust us, he’s another one of many great-looking rookie pitchers this season. Eveland has nasty stuff and is on the verge of something good. He was cruising against the Phillies in his last start and than he hit a couple of batters and eventually was knocked out that inning after allowing four runs. Eveland has struck out 21 batters in 20 innings and against left-handed hitters he’s struck out 11 out of a possible 17. Ramon Ortiz will go for the Nats and he needs no introduction. He’s been a stiff for the past seven years and this year is no different. Ortiz is 1-2 on the road with an ERA of 6.18 and he’s also allowed 34 hits is 22 innings on the road to go along with 19 earned runs. Pay no attention to Ortiz’s recent success. One start was against the Cubs at Wrigley and the other two were at home where that park can make any pitcher look good. The Brewers straight up at home seems like a very reasonable request. Play: Milwaukee –1.10 (Risking 1.65 units to win 1.5).

L.A. Angels +1.11 over CLEVELAND (Pinnacle)
This choice has very little to do with wagering on the Angels and Jered Weaver and much more to do with wagering against Jason Johnson of the Indians. You’ll be hard pressed to find a pitcher that’s been more hittable than Johnson. In 54 frames of work this season he’s struck out a mere 21 batters and that’s the first sign that the hitters are seeing the ball well off him. The second sign is the number of hits he’s allowed, which stands at an alarming 78 in 54 innings. The Angels are playing better and they’re finally hitting the ball better. In fact, they’ve scored 47 times in their past eight games, winning six of them and should have little trouble putting up a few more tonight in this hitter’s park against Johnson. Jered Weaver was outstanding in is major league debut and anything close to resembling that performance gets us to the cashier’s window in this one. Play: L.A. Angels +1.11 (Risking 1.5 units).
