Online gambling industry foundation featured on ABC's "Nightline"
Bodog.com CEO heralded for efforts to help disadvantaged families in Costa Rica
ABC "Nightline" anchor and internationally acclaimed, award-winning journalist Martin Bashir Monday interviewed Calvin Ayre about the work being completed on the Rafael Angel Calderon Guardia School in Grecia, Costa Rica.
Much of the school's infrastructure didn't meet the necessary safety standards (the walls were cracked and unstable, the roof was rotting and the electrical system was antiquated. Three specific areas needed a major overhaul -- a classroom, the interdisciplinary team office and the school lunchroom).
Through the Calvin Ayre Foundation and its Adopt-A-School initiative, extensive renovations are nearing completion and the kids couldn't be happier. There are a total of 69 elementary school students and 20 pre-school students currently attending the school.
Along with the renovations, Calvin Ayre donated new soccer uniforms for the kids, which will undoubtedly inspire their game and inevitably help to build strong teambuilding skills.
Through ongoing support, the Calvin Ayre Foundation is revitalizing the learning environment for the students of Rafael Angel Calderon, offering a new sense of optimism and hope for the future.
