maybe i'm stupid (don't answer that) but i just realized this fact. in a pickem game, giving a free .5 point is totally worthless, as there is no difference. thisworks only for games where ties don't happen. so never buy .5 point when a pickem, right?

i now use skybook that gives free 0.5 on all bets. to me this is a great deal, assuming odds are the same as the others. i never but points, so i never realied this b4.:icon_conf

For hoops this is true, of course. But pickem games are rare.

Skybook also gives the free half point in the NFL, where ties are very rare, but happen every once in a while, so +.5 -110 is very slightly better than pk -110.

Actually I suppose it's possible that a basketball game could be postponed with the score tied after it's already official for wagering purposes (like if the Pacers/Pistons riot game had been tied), so +.5 -110 might be infinitesimally better.
