Batter vs. Pitcher matchups can be deceiving sometimes but just looked at what the Pirates do in there careers vs. Francis and it is pretty alarming: Jason Bay 5 for 5 w/ 1 HR 3 RBI, Burnitz 3 for 6 w/ 1 HR 3 RBI, Jose Castillo 4 for 6 w/ 1 3B 4 RBI, Jack Wilson 3 for 5 w/ 2 RBI etc. Pirates CRUSH left handed pitching but are just an embarassment of a road team. 5-22 on the road and they haven't won back to back road games all season long. Is anyone taking them tonight or are the Rockies finally going to break there losing streak?

Francis got shelled by Pittsburgh twice last year, sometimes there is just a team that owns a pitcher or vice versa and it appears Pitt has Francis's number. Good value for Pitt going against a struggling team, but I'm just worried about how bad of a road team Pitt is.

thats when they didnt use the humidor at Coors before every game...back when it was a hitter's park. i think this game will come down to the bullpens and Colorado is much better IMO.

Colorado right now has no offense and Malholm has been pitching fairly well for Pittsburgh and Colin is right the Pirates have been hitting lefties very well lately.

It's tough to pin it just on that because the humidor has been around for multiple seasons now. Francis had just as rough of a start in Pitt last year as he did in Coors....5 innings, 7 runs, 11 hits, 2 walks. Pittsburgh is also 12-5 over the last 3 years against Colorado. Pitt actually has a pretty solid bullpen, Hernandez, Marte, Gonzalez all have sub 3 ERA's, while Colorado has Fuentes and this Ramirez kid who have been stellar. Mesa and Burger King are due to shelled anytme, hitters are hitting very well off them there ERA's just don't reflect it yet.

I actually liked Pitt quite a bit to start the year, and they were a big reason i started the year in such a hole, but they are finally looking like a decent team.

Pirates Roll in this game, Burnitz is due for a 4-4 game and has always done well on Tuesdays on the Road. From 2001 he is 68-101 on Tuesday night games on the road. Pirates Roll

I was just messing with Colin.......he goes WAY to deep into stats, the way I look at games is WHAT HAVE YOU DONE NOW. He goes into what they did in their rookie season and rain, shine, closed roof, open air........come on its all about are you HOT OR NOT!!
