Im considering going to Vegas next month..and possibly stay for 4-8 weeks. Where would one look to rent a house, or condo for a month or two? Any advice, or opinions.

Thanks

I considered this a while back...I had everything planned out and even had picked out some apartments close to HO's (Some where near circus circus)

The idea looked brilliant and the rent would be about as much as apt costs here a month..

But after trying actual pavement pounding over a weekend looking for the best lines and adjusting plays, it quickly became obvious that a serious sports bettor cant do that..(It didnt help that half the time i was there i was hangover or killing my hangover by getting drunk)

Anyways, its ridiculously hard to make adjustments to your plays in that city!! Its much easier to do it online or by phone where you have higher limits than las vegas where at times its a fight to even find a casino that will take 1k on a game!!!:smoker2: :smoker2: :smoker2: .

I often hear that craigslist.com is the best means to rent/lease in Vegas. I know my friend rented out his house that way...

I would settle for BUDGET suites behind the Stardust.........all I would need, as would only be there 6 hours per day.

Still, something you may want to look into.

If only staying summer, beware of heat. Near 100 at midnite not uncommon. Also you could probably get cheap place by UNLV subbletting vacant apartment of student away for summer. Think if you go to student union there would be stuff advertised there. Those simple tear away number ads. I did that when I first moved there. I also lived in those pay by week places. Not that bad really. One by Swenson and Flamingo. Ad in RJ, Review Journal, all the time. There is no value in betting sports there at all. Good luck.

The Student Union is closed for construction and you dont want to live in the UNLV area. Fishhead has the right idea but I would reccomend the ones on Paradise instead. Its a lot easier travel corridor than the Stardust one. A lot more conviences on that side also.

My landlord might have a room available in the house at that time; it's in the Summerlin area, about 12 miles from the middle of the Strip and a few miles closer to downtown. It isn't a palace but it isn't a dump either and it's $500/mo with all utilities included and the room is furnished including a TV with basic cable. We also have a computer with high-speed internet, in the living room, that we share. Get my e-mail from one of the mods and send me one about a week before you get here if you're interested.

Thanks guys....some great feedback. Im not interested in going there to bet sports. I handle all that offshore. I am going out there for some bowling tournaments in July, and will prolly stay thru the WSOP. I will most likely have some other people staying with me as well that are out there either bowling, or playing in the wsop, or just hanging out. I was thinking maybe a 2 or 3 bedroom place I could lease for like 60 days. High speed internet is a must for sports/poker. I'll check out some of the suggestions that you guys offered, if any other advice is out there..please feel free to chime in.

Thanks

I thought the "HO's" were available in all the casino's, and could be ordered directly to rooms...why the need to pick out a place close to them ??

Very funny man..I meant the casino called something like Westward Ho's..

the apartments people are referring to that are near stardust could be the same ones we are talking about.. (Its all in the vicinity of Circus Circus, Ho's and Stardust..(thought if i remember correctly from my dazed weekends in Vegas, circus circus was across the street from them...(or was that a Mcdonalds?/)
