Newman,
Don't be so hard on yourself, I am sure you will do fine. It is a long season and you have the cajones to post your picks, which many do not. Good luck the rest of the year!

Please let me reiterate. If you would like to turn a losing streak around, just look at my picks and FADE, FADE, FADE !!!!

I still can't believe the Houston / Chicago game. I mean I really didn't care if they went over 9.5, but c'mon. One rookie pitcher who's been semi-struggling this year and the other rookie making his first MLB start and he retires 11 in a row and they both throw a lights out game. Someone up above is seriously frowning on me. By no means does 1-0 sound like what that score should've been.
:nohead:

One Quick Question : Am I right in saying the percentages are damn near the same for going 0-8 compared to 8-0?

Well, gimme an hour and I'll have a few more picks to give someone an opportunity to make some $$$. All I can do is shrug, laugh at myself, and for some reason, go back and research some more.

Good luck to all the rest of you on tomorrow's plays.

Hey, the losing streak is over !!!! Oh boy, like I said, this is what happens when a sports gambler exits the poker world to bet on baseball for the first time in his life. I'm an avid football bettor (can't wait for NCAA Football) and even a NCAA Basketball bettor, but this is my first time ever touching baseball. It's crazy the juice on these games ( understand I've been used to football my whole life ... the -110 +110 lines).

Going to bed on my first good day, which is still 2-3-1 (-.15 Units) but wayyyy better than previous days. I will slowly learn to halfway be able to research and put lines myself on baseball, but I understand that's not going to come for a few years of experience, atleast. Honestly, I don't know the absolute correct stats and research to use yet. Live and learn, baby !!!

See you guys tomorrow for my picks and best of luck ahead of time.

Once again, stats posted are just numbers that pop out at me, not necessarily numbers that I reflect my betting on.

And yes, I know, I'm riding these games probably way too much, but "if" I hit, it's going to be a good day for once.

Good luck to all today. Anyone got an opinion or leaning on these ?

Today's gotta be a good day. Why? Well, when I log into the Rx for the first time of the day, I immediately do my own research than post my pics "before" I look at anyone else's picks because I don't wanna be swayed one way or the other. I feel in the beginning, I should try to learn the how's and why's of picking.

Anywho, I looked after posting my picks and I'm on the same side on 2 of my games as Ace-Ace ( one of the few actually ahead in baseball this year ). So, it's gotta be a good day for me, or I guess a bad day for Ace-Ace. Sorry in advance. But I feel good today.

might i suggest cutting back on the -1.5 two team parlays as a way to save yourself a little cash. betting baseball in this manner is like swimming with sharks, if your'e not careful you could lose a leg or two. gl either way

point taken teazeman ... Thank you very much for the input and welcome to my lonely thread.

So, you're suggesting it's better just to lay the extra juice on the moneyline than take the spread? Like I said, rookie wanting and willing to learn the how's and why's.

my point is it's difficult enough right now to pick winners, much less two run winners with the bullpen performances so far this year. i rarely if ever, well 1 or 2 per week even play parlay's and when i do i like to do so with a couple of live dogs.

example: couple of nights ago had washington + 90 and kc + 75 or 80, well kc blows up in the top of the 9nth but the extra money i picked up on washington made this almost a Bonus Play. had i won it would have been about a 15 unit swing my way and i only risked a couple of units. there are some good dog players in here and you need to resist the temptation to lay on the favs all the time as it will lead to loss of bankroll.

I understand completely and know that I'm riding the same picks a little too much today, but feel good. Big Win or Big Loss today.

So, in a way, the few parlays a person takes should either stay away from previous picked games or sometimes "fade" your own picks, virtually making it a free pick or a big swing ( good equity ).

Thanks again for your advice.

I reread your previous Washington +90, KC +80 post ... I was under the assumption that Washington was playing KC that day on a quick glance and you had Washington, but KC in a parlay; hence, the KC blew the lead but the money I picked up on Washington made it a Bonus Play. I'm sorry the quick misunderstanding, didn't thoroughly read the post and realize it was just two live dog plays.

Now I may be misunderstanding that comment, but that seems like a good insult towards me. Sorry I'm not an expert yet.

Sorry i stepped out to go to lunch, not meant to be an insult in any way! I was just thinking if you want to "handicapp" bet the next 100 plays you make for the minimum, until you get your feet wet. My point being you will eliminate bankroll balance pressure from the equation. I often see people abandon their strategy because their balance goes down, handicapp the play without being concerned that you hit a slump, bottom out the account, hit a hot streak and don't have any money to play on. baseball truly is a grind, a long grind indeed.

Well, all I know is I'm losing. It's way too early to tell what/when/how I'm doing wrong.

My 1 unit plays are netting -.88 Units / play .... my 2 unit plays are netting -.69 Units / play. Add that to the other stats and so far it looks like I should ... do same research ... only play my "2 unit" picks, but for only 1 unit ... play moneylines ... stay away from point spreads, parlays, and over/unders.

See what I come up with for tomorrow and good luck to everyone ahead of time.
