Why is Bonds villified yet Giambi, who did the EXACT SAME THING!!!!!!, cheered??? He got an f'n curtain call the other night. And don't tell me he apologized. He didn't "apologize" for anything. His testimony leaked and he got up and said he was sorry about something for 1/2 hour. Screw him. Guy used the juice to land a $100 million plus contract. Without the juice he's his brother.

Agree. Knew it was coming when the Commissioner appointed the Investigation Committee and said he will take it wherever it goes. I'm glad. The investigation should never be about one or two players but how far back did this first enter the sport. Wherever it leads, so be it.

I think the biggest differences for the fans and general public are that in Giambi's case he is first off he is a little younger, and Mr. Public tends to give "kids" the he doesn't know any better benefit of the doubt - (I personaly don't agree with this but a consencess of my friends do)

Giambi always took the 5th with sad watery eyes and repeated I'm sorry as he hung his head low (hollywood should give him a little statue) - Bonds on the other hand hugely claimed Denial and used the old "wasn't my fault" routine and then "ratted out" his personal trainer/employee.
Giambi obviousley went thru his withdrawals - detox - a possible trip to the farm system - being cut - and stuggled thru rehab and recovery NOT LITERALY - but he could not play WORTH A SHIT for a good year suggesting the above. Now he is back to about 90% and holding. - Bonds had injuries and still has injuries he is back to about 40%, and there is a great concern of weather he will be able to play tomorrow let alone actually reach #756.
Most importantly - success - Bonds has had more. he is encroaching on a legend, and a legend's legend. Well he has already passed the legend's legend which is the great Babe Ruth. this is actually the big one. We were all alive to see Hank, so to us he is not the big one. the Babe seems to have Richer juicier atmosphere that we have carried with us for our entire life. We accept the fact that Hank passed him in the record books only because he did it with integrity, But we still cherish the record as the Babes.

Giambi has a more forgiving and larger atmosphere by being part of "Stienbrenner's evil empire" (sorry Sal) and left Bond's beloved Bay Area that is the heart of the scandal. No offense to bay area as I was born and raised in Sacremento area.
Giambi gave the "I let my dad down" speech. Bonds somehow tainted the great reputations of -Dad Bobby and The Cey hey Kid.
