Jason Johnson 1-8 careerr vs Oakland

4 of his 5 home starts have went over 10.5 runs

He lasted just 2 innings earlier this year vs Oak and gave up 7 runs.

Esteban Loaiza has been injured and is making his first start in 6 weeks

He has pitched 8.2 innings on the road this season and has yielded a whopping 24 base runners and 11 earned runs.

I am staying away from this game (both side and total).

Johnson has struggled, but he faces a lineup today with only 2 players batting over .265. The A's struggle big time offensively.

Loiaza was pitching hurt so his stats are a bit inflated also. The A's have a decent bullpen so even if Loiaza is on a low pitch count, it shouldn't affect the total that is set. They have an impressive 3.60 ERA on the road.

Just my 2 cents.

If you're going to take either team it would be best to lay -1.5, Cleveland either blows you out or gets waxed!

The Indians inability to hit and pitch well on the same day over its last 13 games has been especially strange. During that span, Cleveland has won four times by at least nine runs, and lost three games by seven runs or more.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

Oakland USE to have a good bullpen then everyone got hurt, Duchscherer & Kennedy are both on the DL. They now rely on guys like Keisler 4.50 ERA hitters hitting .350 off him, Karsey 7.36 ERA, Calero 4.76 ERA, Witasick just came back he has a 10+ ERA, Street has been anything but automatic this year. What use to be Oakland's strong point has turned into there weak point recently.

Before yesterday's game, Oakland had given up 10 runs total in the previous 6 games. I don't think their bullpen has been too shabby even with the injuries.

There starters have been pitching good lately Haren, Zito, even Saarloos had a strong start. When there starters can go deep into games they can hand it off to guys like Street and Calero who's numbers aren't too impressive but they both have good stuff. When starters get shelled like yesterday they bring in guys like Witasick, Keisler, Karsey and the doors just get blown open on the game. Only way this game stays under is if one of the starters has an exceptional strong outing because both bullpens are pretty thin in terms of quality arms outside of the closer position.

Thomas grounds out with a man in scoring position, something he has been doing quite frequently.

He's actually been pretty hot of late. He had a brutal start to the season.

He is 7-for-21 with 4 HRs and 8 RBIs the last 8 games.

RISP with 2 outs Thomas is batting .167, I've seen it all year from him.

Batting .195 in the 4th slot for the year.

Absolutely...he was brutal early on. He rarely has anyone in scoring position though. The top of the A's order is terrible and they have no one with any speed.

He hit:

.190 in March/April
.268 in May
.294 in June so far

The sad thing is, they have no other option on that team to hit 4th. Their lineup is pretty ugly.

Getting Bradley back should help. I wouldn't mind seeing him move up in the order.
