apparently they didnt use the humidor today...does anybody know where you can find out WHEN they will/wont use it before the games?

i dont want to hear that it isnt the humidor that is causing the low scoring games...because this IS their rotation:

the whole deal is a mystery to me. how can they score so little and then just put up 25-30 pts out of the blue?

Looking back on opposing starters during their current home-stand, they have been shut down by pitchers who have doing well. There has only been 1 pitcher that they have faced that is struggling (Tomko) and the Rockies have hit him well. They did get 16 against Pittsburgh but only 4 earned runs were against Perez in 5 innings. They hit the relievers for most of those runs.

Sunday's game has Lowe starting who is doing well. Look for the Rockies to fail to deliver.

Sorry, Perez gave up 9 earned runs in 2 innings. I was looking at the wrong part of the boxscore.

The temp I'm sure plays a part too. Hot a mile high and the balls could be soaking wet and still fly out.

it isnt just the balls traveling farther....it also has to do with the movement on the pitches. those 12-9...18-9 games are largely due to a ton of singles and doubles (just hitters not getting fooled). Derek Lowe is pitching right now and his sinker IS BARELY SINKING today...i have seen all of his starts so far this year.

So since hardly anyone cares about this i just want to warn you that unless you know when they will be using the humidor (let me know) and if not DONT BET ON THE TOTALS AT COORS FIELD.

The humidor has been in use since 2002, and I believe that it's used for every home game.
