Watch out for something very very special on Wednesday. At the first game you saw our national team arms in arms during the national anthem. This time, on Wednesday you will not only see the team arms in arms - this time you will see the whole stadium arms in arms during the anthem. And that is not all. At every public viewing point people will be arms in arms. That should show the team our support and indentification with them. We want to show them that they are one of us and we are one of them. It will be a very special moment and very emotional for us Germans. It was nearly forbidden for us to show any kind of pride since ww2. Whenever someone was proud of being German he was called a Nazi. The WC changed this totally. Now a whole nation is proud of being German. My generation and the generation before are not responsible for ww2 and what happened. We trash all people being responsible for it. BUT WHY SHOULDN`T WE BE PROUD OF BEING GERMAN more than 60 years after ww2. We are no racists, we are no nazis, we are simply Germans who are proud of hosting the WC. Keep that in mind when you see the scenery on Wednesday and please don`t call Germans Nazis anymore.
I guess whenever you meet someone who was in Germany for the WC or ever has been on a trip to Germany he will tell you that we are one of the best and friendliest hosts in the world.
