at 55. he was the brother of jerry and fought for the light heavyweight title vs bob foster.

use to talk with him at the gym in rosemead calif about 10 years ago and he was suffering from some pretty serious brain damage very sad.

Foster was one of the hardest punchers in ring history. His knockout victory over Mike Quarry documented one of the most perfect punches ever thrown.

His brother Jerry died at age 53 from complications from pneumonia , he had been suffering for years from dementia pugilisitica, which is brain damage caused by repeated blows to the head.

What about the uppercut against Rondón? He was one of my faves...hated to see Frazier anihilate him so bad.

At least poor Mike suffers no more-- RIP.

mike also suffered from the same thing as jerry. i always thought that the boxers that do drugs tend to have the worst dementia quarry brothers, mando ramos, bobby chacon, wilfred benitez etc

Jerry sold tvs in Huntington Beach in late 80's, nice guy. Saw Tommy Morrison lnockout his son at the Hilton in 93
