Again, very little time for writeups as this World Cup and my duties at the office have got me bogged down.

One look at the box says Colorado was the right side last night but I watched the game. The Nats blew an early chance against Francis and ended up with just 2 in the second after a DP grounder by Schneider. Coulda been a much bigger inning. The Rockies took the lead on a Helton walk and two broken-bat hits by Hawpe and Closser. Washington came within a few inches of a Byrd homer of tying it in the ninth. Oh well. Royals lose by 1, what's new? Pushed the total in Toronto. 113-151-6 on the season, down 10470.

Not a lot I'm interested in today either. One note. SOme of these favorites are ridiculously priced these days. There are a lot of 'name' pitchers that are reaching a point where they could be suffering from tired arms, don't like the excessive heat... whatever... the point being, these prices are too high lol.

One example is Johnson today for Florida against Smoltzie. Has been great as of late, only losing to Schmidt the last two times. Missed the price so must pass.

Will lay the short number with Glavine today. He's done just about everything right as of late as he looks to become baseball’s first 10-game winner. He’s 9-2 with a 3.06 ERA this season and had thrown at least six innings in 27 straight starts until the Dodgers knocked him out after 5 1/3 last time, a game he won 9-7. Glavine beat the Mets on May 10, yielding three runs on four hits in seven innings of a 13-4 romp. New York has won five straight, including four straight in Arizona over the weekend. Philly was shut out for the first time this season Sunday in Washington, 6-0, and lost three of four in the series. Madson has gotten better but this price on the hot division leader is overly fair. Taking a stab at the blowout, too...

THe play: Mets -122 - 610 to win 500
Mets -2.5 runs plus 197 - 250 to win 492.50

This is stolen straight from sherwood.

"The “due to win” theory is about the most ludicrous and bankroll killing theory we’ve ever heard and after losing four straight at home the Yanks aren’t due to win anything. Actually, the Yanks are due for something; they’re due to allow 10 runs or more in a ball game because it’s only been six games since that happened and with that pathetic bullpen it’s bound to happen again soon enough. Chien Ming Wang, in 81 frames has walked 21 and struck out 29, meaning the hitters are seeing the ball well off him. That bodes well here for the Tribe, who have scored 10 runs or more in each of their last four victories. The opposition is hitting .280 off Wang and despite beating the Red Sox in is last start he hasn’t looked particularly sharp in is last five outings. Paul Byrd will go for the Indians and he has been very sharp in seven of his last eight starts, allowing only the White Sox to batter him over that stretch. Indians a very dangerous pooch, especially against some shaky pitching like they’ll face here. Play: Cleveland +1.30."

I'll add a little. The fight between Byrd and Wickman could just what this talented group needs to start putting it all together. I missed this price but not by much.

The play: Tribe plus 128 - 500 to win 640
2teams - Tribe plus 24 and OVER 11 plus 105 - 300 to win 1077.60

Young Weaver has been running good for Anaheim, winning his first three starts. His price tonight with the last-place Halos is ridiculous. Those who lay will point to last night's win and the 15-2 record ANA has its last 17 vs. KC. But the Royals are giving Duckworth a chance to re-establish himself as a Major League starter. The Kansas City scouts tracked Duckworth at AAA Indianapolis in the Pirates system and liked what it saw, as Duckworth was 8-3 with a 2.42 ERA in 12 starts. It acquired Duckworth for just cash and is eager to use him tonight. Great spot for the Royals.

The play: Kansas City plus 250 - 400 to win 1000

That's it... GL all...

Great writeups!
I am on the Royals as well. The Angels D is brutal, they are just not that good this year, might turn it around but right now they don't look like it and Weaver has had three straight great starts to begin his career, at some point the hitters will catch up with him, at +250 i'll take a shot its tonight.

Thanks TKE, love me some old Nikki, haha...

Almost forgot my daily dose of Oakland...

Each team has won 9 of 11 but the A's do this all the time in June. They are now an astonishing 80-38 in June since the start of the 2002 season. Oakland has also won each of the last six meetings with Seattle this season. Joe Blanton gets the nod for the A's tonight, and he's responsible for two of those victories. The right-hander pitched eight innings and gave up two hits in a 5-0 victory over Seattle on April 7, and allowed two runs and seven hits over seven innings of a 12-6 win on May 16. In 15 innings against the Mariners this season, Blanton has issued one walk while striking out eight and holding Seattle to a .188 average. Meanwhile, crafty veteran Jamie Moyer (3-5, 3.86) tries to rebound from his shortest outing of the season when he takes the ball for Seattle. The left-hander gave up four runs and 10 hits over five innings Wednesday against the Twins. Moyer is 1-3 with a 6.20 ERA on the road this season.

The play: Oakland -120 - 600 to win 500
Oakland -1.5 plus 175 - 400 to win 700

GL!
