BOS opened in the summer of 1997, not a day sooner. You don't get to count your years in Brooklyn. It's just one more piece of deceptive marketing that they use.

As long as the Rx is going to keep them up, can you at least enforce some truth in advertising on your own site?

Do the books write their own review? That's very misleading if true. When you click on a "sportsbook review" link on a particular site, shouldn't you assume that you are getting that site's opinion of the book?

Agree, I highly doubt that these guys were opened prior to 1997. That is offshore.

That's the thing with many Costan Rican Books, they can never provide any paperwork to backup their words.

As long as they had some type of operation going back then I think it may be ok for them to say that. My dad officially started his last company 15 years ago even though he never actually did anything until a couple years ago, but he still claims it's 15 years old. It's pretty common to do that I think.

Btw, they've got a D rating at sportsbookreview.com, so i don't see why anyone bothers playing with them in the first place.

So many books lie about this I have lost count. When confronted they always have a rehearsed story. I asked one place that said over 15 years of top-notch offshore experience, turns out that was 8 years for the general manager, 4 years for the line manager, and 3 years for the marketing manager. Total BS that many books get away with because the average viewer of their ads is totally naive to the offshore industry.

Jay C, I believe you brought this up when they first showed up at The RX under "new" management. I second what JC is saying. If you are going to continue to promote these scammers, can you at least force them to tell the truth on your own site?

Another possibility is they had differant originations. How long has Nine been booking bets? since 2005 or all the years previous that had the mybookie name? Books change hands often. Maybe one of their 17 books started in 1991. (Maybe BOS bought that particual book).

From nine web site:
The management at Nine.com has been in the online gaming business since 1997 operating successful portals like Betcom.com and MyBookie.com. As a result of this success, management has earned a coveted spot on eGaming Review's "Power 50" list, which recognizes leaders in online gaming.

That in my book wouldn't be an outright lie, just a slight spin.

I don't know the first thing about booking, but if I open a book, I will say

"XXXXX has been associated with the gambling business since 1982 ...."

or

"XXXX has more than 24 years of sports gambling experience ..."

NASA opened in 1996, not 1991.

To be truthfull and fair to BOS, they are far from the only book that lies about there age.

BETCRIS also lies about how long they have been around. They say thay have been around since the 70's :lolBIG:

I completely disagree. To count each year they have been a book is flat out wrong and deceptive. If a guy has been booking 40 years on the corner to 50 players and then moves off shore then he can say XXXX has now been around 40 years? Big difference in running a normal stateside book and then adding this huge post up operation to what they have been doing. Books often have trouble with it because they can't seem to grasp the fact the money is not there's once the players send it in, they have to win it first. Many book have tried to make the transition and failed. Oh and they even specify it's over 15 years in the "online gaming business", I highly doubt when they were in Brooklyn they were taking action online. Very deceptive in my opinion and totally unnecessary to begin with, just another lie as they try to bullshit any suckers that would play there.

One thing is clear ...

Jay has too much time on his hands if he's getting upset of this.

Jay,
I liked it better when you were running world class books!
