First, if BOS jobbed the players who are registering complaints, shame on them. As other posters have said, tho, there are always two sides. And, as a recent post stated, maybe BOS is making a statement re bonus whores?

A book should write its rules very carefullly. They want new players, but they don't want to be nailed on technicalities. If they err in their rule-writing, they should pay. And then re-write the rules to try to close loopholes.

Enough said on that.

But I'm personally satisfied with BOS - ie, one BOS book I use: Wagermall.
Good bonus and often a half point diff at the various books. (Yes, I know they are all BOS books, and also know that that may not be the actual line at the specific book site, but if I get what i want, so what?)

I've had an account at WMall for a few years. Always been treated fairly, and in fact more than fair. Once I emailed to criticize because the call-in for a free half point at one of their books had the lines jammed before the cut-off hour.

They apologized --- and put some free money in my acccount to accent the apology.

Then again, I'm not a big bettor. One of those bitching about being hoisted by BOS noted that he bet 9k on a baseball game.

I might bet that much TOTAL over a two year period, mostly football and some college hoops.

"Ah, then, you are a LOSER!" some may shout.

Actually, no. Tho bettors lie worse than our president about winning and how much they win, I must humbly submit that for the last 18 years I've taken wagering seriously, I've won in 13 of those years. Not much, anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand.

But,yes, a small bettor. Yet I'm wondering how much of a "minority report" this may be. IE, how many membersof rx bet a norm of 9k, and how many bet a dollar or two, as do I?

The heaviest posters may be the biggest bettors, but most of the readers are, I'd suspect, more in my category. ( I do recall tht one heavy poster, ppeter, once defended WMall - still of that opinion, pp? Or intimidated into silence by all the noise?)

I'm stating an opinion here. I don't shill for anyone. I don't know how long posts are held in rx memory, but a few years ago I complained long and loud on this board about Betmill's cavalier attititude in not informing a horse-playing elderly friend of mine about a change they made in how soon before post they would accept a bet. (Mill tried to say it was posted on their web site, but I told them, and these boards, that the guy did not have a pc and always called in his bets.)

If BOS should have paid a big bettor, and the honest mods here think they should have, then they should have paid.

But there are different levels of bettors - no, not winners and losers, but high and low. What's bad for the high may be ok for the low.

Peace To All,

ditto---I am not happy about what BetMill did to "Artie" either---but the atmosphere regarding BoS is getting more than a little hysterical.

I play fairly large amounts at BoS and have never had a problem getting paid, and have nothing but good experiences playing there. Now Mill is a completely different story, based on personal experiences I wouldn't play there if it was the last offshore left.

I should also have mentioned the diff between, say, scalpers and handicappers. What may be a bad book for one could be fine for another. I like to see the brand on the bull before taking part in a stampede.

Of course, there are books that are bad news for everyone, but if one hits a few posting forums or sportsbet sites those are usually easily avoided.
