Wanted to get this play out there because it opened at 11, I hit it, and it has already dropped to 10, as I think others are as well. Because it has dropped already, I have to drop the play ranking/unit amount as well.
4* Cal State Fullerton/North Carolina under 10 -105
Recipes for an over include walks, hit batters, big run innings, bases loaded jams, etc. You have two of the top pitchers in the nation. #6 overall lefty Andrew Miller vs. a Cal State Fullerton offense that is solid, but not a juggernaut. And outstanding sophomore RHP Wes Roemer, who has 6 freakin walks in 140 + innings pitched. This kid is a workhorse, he is the safest bet in Omaha. He will not walk people, he has ice in his veins, any kind of an x factor that you want to describe in your dream pitcher, this kid has it. He will not go out there and consistently put himself in bases loaded jams. He throws 3 quality pitches for strikes. North Carolina will need to string together hit after hit after hit to plate runs, and this kid is too good to do that against.
If Andrew Miller is anywhere close to being on, he should be lights out. I think after playing in that nasty Alabama environment, playing on a neutral site in Omaha should be a breeze for this guy. His left-handed release comes from the far left of the mound and that ball cuts across the plate, into a right handed batter. He is very intimidating at 6'5" throwing a legit 95 MPH. He has great stuff, explosive life on his fastball, and a nasty slider that he throws to lefties.... and Fullerton will need to pressure him with bunts, etc. This game shouldnt have any big run innings, it should be a battle for runs. I can't see a score of more than 5-3, 4-2, 6-2, 3-1.
