im now down over 100 units, now what?

the last 4 months have been the worst betting stretch of my life. do i throw in the towel or keep plugging away? i do this as a hobby and enjoy it very much. i usually end up around even each year which is fine and pretty good based on the fact that 90% of gamblers lose money annually. but this is a hard hit im at now. i got uncharacteristically undisciplined, chased, followed, bad breaks, ect, you know the routine. i cant believe it came to this. at this point im throwing my arms in the air and saying :WTF:

Take a brreak. Come back for football or the end of baseball.

i guess the good news is i do have enough sense to have a hobby bankroll so to speak as to not affect or burden my bills,lifestlye, ect. i can still play if i want but damn, lately it seems im just throwing money away and thats no fun regardless of your resourses.

Sounds like you know the answer to your question. Take a break from gambling. Even from the board. How long of a break only you can say. I was away from it all, the board, lines, offshore accounts, etc. for about 10 days earlier this summer and it does recharge you and it was quite refreshing. If you think you need longer, wait until CFB and the NFL start in August.

Earl..trust me ...Walk away from betting for 4 weeks you will feel refreshed and ready for the next season


I have not made a wager in about 2 months and I feel great! ..saving and waiting on ncaa/nfl foots ..

worst thing you can do now is chase .follow the cappers ups and downs on this forum if you need to root for someone to win..it works for me just to watch people win and lose.. JMHO

earl, you're obviously doing something wrong in your capping of games, and/or tailing of people. I suggest finding a whole new set of people to look at on these forums. As habitual as it may seem to keep clicking on someones thread that you are used to looking at, try to stay away unless you are fading what that person is picking.

Of course, if this isnt fun anymore and you are losing important money, stop immediately.

the very least,take a few days off, do not even look at the sports forum. it doesn't have to be 4 -8 weeks..

instead of following some of the posters, start fading their selections, except who you feel are the select few..:toast:
