3* Texas Rangers -1 -126

Just an average-sized play on the Rangers this evening, who start left-hander John Koronka vs. an Arizona Diamondbacks team ripped apart at the seams by this HGH/Grimsley scandal. On top of it, they start 36-year old reliever Kevin Jarvis for the first time this season.

Really a fade of Arizona, more than a play on Texas. Texas is just average at home, while Arizona is a decent road team. But not to say Texas is bad. Texas was playing some good baseball for the last few weeks before their last series they recently lost 3 out of 4 to the White Sox in Texas. I wanted to see how they would respond from that series loss, and they came back yesterday with a nice 5-3 victory. Tonight, I think they continue that.

Arizona started the year nice, but that was all before Grimsley's home was raided for HGH. Now, every player on this D-Backs team is wondering if their name was among those mentioned by Grimsley. Luis Gonzalez found himself being questioned a few days ago as the latest potential guy with a bullseye on his back. As a result of all of the sress of potential career changing charges against them, the Backs can't score, they can't pitch and they can't win. Every other game or so, these guys give up double digit runs, and every game they can't score any runs themselves. they thought heading out on the road might change things for them, but they lost yet again 5-3 to Texas last night, which erased that optimism. Now they are starting a reliever for the first time this year against a Texas team that can hit.

Texa' Koronka isn't pitching well at home, and good lineups such as the White Sox and Yankees have been able to tag him a bit ruining his stats. He's held struggling lineups in check, such as KC (6 IP, 2ER), Oakland (7IP, 2ER), etc. Also whenever this guy struggles, he seems to have a nice bounce back game and keep his team in the game, for example: Seattle tagged him for 2.2 IP 11 hits, and 7 runs, next game he shut down the Royals. Yankees roughed him up, next game he held the Astros in check, and finally the Indians roughed him up and then he came back next game and shut down the Orioles for the best game this season. I say this because he got roughed up by the White Sox last game, and now he is put into a nice bounceback position vs. a struggling D-Backs team.

Overall, Texas is the better team here in my opinion. They have the better lineup, the better starter, and the better bullpen.

For as much as I have college figured out, I have adjusted, tweaked, and adjusted, and tweaked my MLB system ot no end, and I have found something very selective in which I am confident in.
