Arizona +1.07 over TEXAS<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
Not customary for us to endorse playing on ice-cold teams but the pitching match-up here is one that can’t be ignored. Kameron Loe of the Rangers has thrown 76 innings and has surrendered 99 hits and the opposition is hitting .310 off him. In June, the opposition has hit .369 on him to go along with his 6.34 ERA. Loe is now 1-4 at Ameriquest and appears to be laboring more and more with each start. He’s also allowed eight jacks with 15 walks and just 18 k’s in 38 innings at home and not only is he battling himself, he’s really battling this venue too. The D-backs have sunk faster than Steve Stricker at the U.S. Open. Arizona has lost 11 of 12 and that’s definitely a concern. However, Enrique Gonzalez has been brilliant in three starts with a 1.64 ERA. He’s allowed just 10 hits in 22 frames and has struck out 20 batters over that stretch while issuing just four walks. It’s only three games but those are eye-opening numbers and the Rangers have never seen Gonzalez pitch. Gonzalez has wicked stuff, great command and his confidence is high. D-Backs definitely a live pup and we’re on it. Play: Arizona +1.07 (Risking 1.5 units).

Tampa Bay +1.63 over PHILADELPHIA<o:p></o:p>
Seth McClung is 2-9 with an ERA of 6.51 and on the road he’s 0-5 with an ERA of 9.37. He’s made 14 starts for the D-Rays this year and he’s even walked more batters than he’s struck out. The next obvious question is why is he still in the majors and not in the minors. Well, we have to conclude that the manager and front office have discussed that issue but they obviously see something in McClung and that’s good enough for us. So is this tag on the Devil Rays, who have owned the Phillies in inter-league play, winning the first two of this series to improve to 10-4 all-time against them. It gets better. Philadelphia has lost six straight and eight of its last nine and they’re 0-5 on their nine-game home stand and have been outscored 40-20 while hitting .237 as a team. Ryan Madsen has been just as bad as McClung with an ERA of 6.11 and in his last start he allowed six earned runs and eight hits, including three homers, in five innings of a 9-7 loss to the New York Mets. Overall, he’s been torched to the tune of 86 hits, 43 runs and 12 bombs in 63 innings and he’s facing a healthy and hot-hitting invader here. And finally, Madsen should not be big chalk over anyone; he’s done nothing whatsoever to warrant this big price and frankly, neither has the Phillies. Overlay. Play: Tampa Bay +1.63 (Risking 1.5 units).

FLORIDA +1.46 over Toronto<o:p></o:p>
The Blue Jays have performed miserably during inter-league play and in fact, they’re now 0-5 after a three game sweep in Colorado and losing the first two of this set. In Colorado they scored seven times in three games and in Florida they managed to score three times in two games to run their inter-league total to 10 runs in five games. Don’t know about you but we want no part of laying more than 3-2 on the Jays even with Roy Halliday on the hill. Perhaps nobody noticed but the Fish have won seven in a row and Josh Johnson has been as good as Halliday and as good as any chucker in the business. In fact, Johnson's season ERA would be the best in the majors, but he is just a few innings shy of qualifying. Johnson has allowed just two bombs in 61 innings and he’s surrendered just 45 hits over that same span. At Dolphin Stadium he’s 3-1 with a puny 1.13 ERA and the opposition has hit just .191 off him. Halliday needs no introduction, the man is the straight goods but he’s no cinch to win here. Jays are not playing well, the Marlins are and Johnson takes a back seat to nobody. Halliday is big chalk here on reputation and public backing and that’s not good enough. Game should be a pick’em and it’s for that reason we’ll play on the home side. Big overlay. Play: Florida +1.46 (Risking 1.5 units).

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the good father's out there and remember to take your kids to at least two ball games this year. They'll love it and so will you and also remember to always play the dogs in baseball and the hot-dogs and drinks will always be on the books.

Good luck.
