Why didn't Shilling continue to pitch? He was doing well.

Ah, modern baseball strategy....

Curt threw 101 pitches. Even Beckett only went 6 last night. Only Sox starter that goes much deeper is Wake on a good night

"Overall, the BOSOX have a more than capable bullpen."

I tend to agree w/ ya...especially in comparison to the majority of team's pens.

*But* the majority of RSN will disagree...i'm already envisioning a day full of whining about Seanez, Lopez, etc all day long on WEEI tomorrow. The argument will be that Timlin should've came in...and Seanez & Tavarez have been the punching back of criticism BIG TIME in the media/RSN for the good part of the past few weeks.

Then some moron will call up and say we should trade Foulke for K-Rod...then that will be a full/complete day of enjoyable listening to sports radio.

Well, TIMLIN and PAPELLBON are two relievers that have certainly proven to be more than dependable.

Having said that, TIMLIN has worked himself and the club into a terrible mess in this current game.

I think Wake could go 200 pitches if he felt like it. He has almost no pressure on his arm with all those knucklers.

5 runs scored in first 6 innings (off the starters). 12 runs scored (so far) in the next three innings (off the relievers).

Leave the starters in longer!

Remember when relieve pitchers used to be called "firemen"? Don't hear that anymore

"Firestarters" is more like it!

Yeah - they've finally got online....at weei.com

but everyone's fav. Newmie has moved on...contract scenario, he wanted more money & they didnt give it to him. Michael Holley is now w/ Dale - he does a good job, if only they can get rid of Dale though. Only person in New England who will bring up Bruins hockey when the Sox are playing the Yanks, Patriots starting up mini-camp, etc.
